Help!!! 1984 500 interceptor not starting after carb clean

I have checked the plugs over and over again. The coils and the plugs tested fine, and are hooked up in the right places. My spark tester is indicating a fuel problem (not sure how reliable). Could a vacuum problem cause it not to fire off?

 

But even with a vacuum problem, i had put a little gas in the carbs anyway, so it has to be a spark issue still....

 

make sure the kill switch is to the run position......( I know but it has happened) How far did you tear the carbs down? you should pull the carbs off and try to work fuel thru them while on the bench.. make sure the carbs got put back together correctly..

 

I have checked the carbs, and everything is put together right. The plate that holds the carbs together has a small crack near the back of the plate (toward rear of bike).

 

Spray starter fluid onto the air cleaner element and see if it fires, regardless of the carbs it should give an indication of firing and possibly run for a second or two, if not, it is an ignition problem

 

Give it a try with the tank turned to reserve.
