Stood knee deep in tears looking out at the friggin' snow in the driveway Then wiped the dust off my '06 and my son's FZ6R . I bought the vfr last July and barely put 1000miles on it....I envy you Florida guys.....

Envy us California guys instead. Warm weather, low humidity and canyons, canyons, canyons. Oh, and canyons. Did I mention canyons? We have a those.

The only thing I did to my VFR was move it under cover before it rained.

You got rain in California? Isn't California the land of earth quakes, brush fires and mud slides?

I guess the mods would remove my post if I called you a D##K huh Lint??!! LOL ! I sure would like to go blasting through some canyons with ya man,...it just ain't in the cards. But, Pa. and NY have plenty of great mountains to lean into! ...just have to wait for them to defrost a bit. as soon as its 40* and sunshine, I'll be right there!

I just changed my oil and now I'm going to hit it with some degreaser to get rid of any oil spills.

My son came over to the house to change the oil in his car. Now my shop floor looks like a crime scene were a creature, that had oil in its veins and not blood, was brutally murdered.

Everyone has their faults and California sure has hers! Having lived through several quakes, a couple of massive fires, it was so bad one time that they had us stay indoors due to all the smoke and ash, but luckily no mud slides. I still love it here! I've been to quite a few other states, TX included and I don't think I can give up living here. Here's one reason. I'm 15 minutes from some really nice beach cities, and 45 minutes away from the local mountains. Today I was hanging out in Seal Beach getting a good view of the snow in the local mountains, not a bad deal. If I had my good camera i.e. 200MM zoom lens, I could have stood at the pier and took pictures of the snow capped mountains and one of Catalina Island.

Finally fitted a new chain. Used a BikeMaster breaker and riveter, will not try and break a chain this way again as the drive pin got stuck in the old chain. Was a lot easier to cut the link plates with a grinder. The tool was great for riveting the new joint though. [IMG]

I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. Oh how I do miss miss my rides through the Glendora Mountain Rd. Everyone must ride them canyons once before it falls into the Pacific from an earthquake! No deer or coyote cross the road on you for months after a fire!

Yup heading up there this summer while visiting family, although my Viffer will be here in Gibraltar all covered up in the garage. I'll probably "borrow" my brother in law's blade instead

Removed, cleaned and re-oiled the K&N filter in the bike and finished off the install of the winter farkles. I picked up a Clear Clutch Window Cover from member Sebspeed over on VFRD and buttoned the rest of the install back up today, which included re-installing the airbox and the right crankcase cover.

If anyone is interested in this modification, there is some info available in the following link.

    http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/...-special-vfrd-only/?hl=+clear++clutch++window

Will it go any faster?? NO.
Will it get better fuel economy?? NO.
Will it help let me know when the clutch is sticking or needs replacement?? Eeeeer, well, NOT LIKELY.
Will it aid the performance of the motorcycle in any real fashion?? Probably not.

Does it look better?? Depends on your point of view, but IMHO, HELL YES!!

Had the cover powder coated semi gloss black to match the exhaust heat shield and polished the clutch pressure plate. Also installed some countersunk washers and bolts for added visual interest.

Photo of the cover once completely installed. I do appear to be missing one of the lower cowl bolts mind you as the bike was taken apart for awhile (since early December) so I will have to head down to the nearest dealer to pick up a few of the bolts. The wife's bike is also missing a few from where the lower cowl was attached with incorrect bolts. OK, OK, so it's not quite done, but totally functional at least.
