I just got home from the dealer. The model in question is 2013 VFR1200F. The listing price is $11 269 and after all the taxes and fees goes to $14 200 OTD. It felt great. Much better than ZX14R in my opinion after I sat on them for a few minutes. I live in San Francisco Bay Area and I am looking to upgrade my Honda 919. $14+k OTD seems high to me. And no $3k bonus bucks for accessories. They said they used the bonus bucks to reduce the price. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the reply. I really like the improvements that were introduced in the 2012 model so I am willing to pay extra. But not sure if these improvements cost $2k.

Too high, expand your search area some and you will find one for closer to 10k. Use it as an excuse for a road trip or do a "fly and ride" and sell your 919 locally. I played a local dealer against a bike in Texas until he came down to roughly the Texas bike's price plus travel costs.

Whatever you do though, buy the bike! I love my 2012.

Way too high. They are listed for around $9-10+ around here. Be willing to travel, you can save tons that way!

Sent from my phone, please forgive brevity and misspelling

Thanks, I also think is too high. And they do not seem to want to negotiate despite the fact that the bike just sits there for the past 2 years and there are scratches in the paint here and there. Not deep scratches but noticeable especially under fluorescent light. I will keep shopping but there are not many 2013 VFR1200s in my area. I hope I can score one soon.

One side question: Should I be worried about engine oil, forks oil and brake fluid or anything else being 2 years old? I have never purchased a leftover motorcycle that has been sitting for 2 years. Anything I should know about when buying a leftover?

    Thanks!

If it's been kept inside, I wouldn't worry too much. hopefully whatever is in the tank is ethanol free or they used stabalizer. ask if the battery has been kept on a tender. You gotta figure used bikes from craigslist have seen much worse, the 99 I picked up still had the original brake fluid I believe. Cleaned the sludge from the master cylinders, new fluid and it's working fine.

RUN FOREST GUMP, RUN!!!!!!!! Keep looking, or bring back $10,000 cash and lay it on the table----included is tax and fees. Will they let you test ride it? if not, I would walk. Hopefully you have a M1 licence.

I bought my CBR as a leftover. No issues at all. I would absolutely buy a leftover again. I did insist on a new battery, because...well I just wanted a new battery.

Thanks. I forgot about the battery which is probably the first thing that will go. The problem is it is very hard to verify whether they indeed have put a new battery or a slightly newer one... if they replace it at all. I had a case before where the battery died 6m after purchase and the dealer replaced the battery with a "new" one... which died in less than 2 years.

The more I look the bike the more I like it. Maybe if you replace the front end with the front end on the 8th gen VFR800 it will be the perfect motorcycle for me. And if the MSRP was right there would be no leftovers ever.

Err, where are you that "taxes and fees" are almost $3000? WTF...I'd say the stealership was fudging your paperwork.

Anything more than 12,000 OTD is way too much for VFR 1200 no matter what year.

    The improvements are nothing.
ECU reflash gives you way more. Except the traction control which most experienced riders don't care about.
