So, I had to take off my windscreen to get to the dash to change a burnt out bulb. When I went to put the screen back on, both screws that I removed just kept turning and turning, so I had a look. They are expander nuts (or whatever you call them) that go in to the holes on the side of the fairing and they have stripped out the hole that holds them. The holes are now too big to even hold them in and they rattle around just waiting to fall out. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!

I suffered the same issue with my bike a couple years back and I lined up the inserts where they were supposed to sit and then I put the screws in the inserts and used some JB Weld to epoxy them back in place. Once the JB weld had hardened I backed the screws out re-installed the fairing and put it all back together. Worked like a charm.

Zoom Zoom mentioned some plastic repair material to me some time ago as I have the same problem. I never got around to order the stuff (call me the procrastinator) but I believe this is it:

    Hope this helps.

I basically did what ZoomZoom did but with a plastic repair kit. It wasn't plastex, but very similar, don't recall the name off hand but principle is the same. BTW, I coated the screw with WD-40 before I screwed it into the connector, just to make sure the screw didn't bond with the repair material.
