Wondering if these tires are worth trying. Here in Canada these are about the cheapest tires available at $250 a set, but have the features of much more expensive ones. Anyone know what kind of mileage to expect from these or the single compound version.

I don't know about Canada prices, but if you could get the Dunlop deal with rebate, the Q 3 are cost me $194.40 after rebate. There is a 15 tire review online that I read and that shrinko came in close to last place like you would expect from a china tire, but some here do claim Shrinko are good tires. I would tend to think there are better tires but they cost more.

I think from what I've read that the model of Shinko makes a big difference in how they ride/last.

I would guess shinko's last, but why would you want them too if they ride like a rock. And steer like a truck.:funky:

SOW probably thinks Shinko tires are some plot by the Chinese to make his bike fall over.

As far as I can tell shinko is not Chinese, it's the company that took over yokohama when they went out of business. Their rubber manufacturing is done in Japan and all motorcycle tires are produced in Korea. Even my current PR2s we're made in Vietnam I think . So where in the world they come from is not my concern. I'm just asking if anyone has actually put them on a VFR driven and it.

You have two little points of contact with the road that can be the difference between stopping short of that idiot cager that slammed on his brakes or plowing into him. There are lots of ways to save money, motorcycle tires shouldn't be one of them.

Thanks, good review but different tire. I think that's their sport tire, like the pilot powers. The verge is more like the pilot road series. It must be fairly new as I can't find many review. The few that I have found seem favorable.

I'm not trying to be cheap just practical. If there's an alternative to the expensive tires that almost as good then I'll consider it.
My first choice is a pr2 or even pr4 but do I really need them. Where I ride I'll never use them to their full potential, 90% of the time I'm on the center of the tire. My last two set of pr2's the rear flat spotted and the front cupped, with little opportunity to wear the edges. That just seems a waste of a good tire.

If the Shinkos came from North Korea SOW would say they are great.

How many miles did you get on the PR2? When I used them, I would get 8-10,000 miles. Not bad, in my opinion. Admittedly, I've never used Shinko tires, but my brother had a set on his VFR750, and there is a reason his pronunciation of Shinko comes with explicit language warning. I have had cheap off brand motorcycle tires, and I can tell you a cheap tire can take the joy out of riding.

I would think you would want the best tire not last years model, I also think Dunlop with a lot of testing on certain tires would be a better choice over shinko's no name brand who knows where they are made, I think Badbilly makes Shinko's :kc10:under his bridge out of used tires when they get flattened going over his spike strips on his bridge, that is the only way he can get people to stop and pay his toll.

Even a tire thread becomes more about slinging racial slurs and meanness, than about the tires themselves. Who knows, someone working in the plant where they are made could be a homosexual to.....or really short. ....or color half their hair blue.....then those tires must be extremely bad!

I get about the same, which is fine. I'm just thinking that without seeing any negative reviews on this specific tire, and at this price they may be worth trying out. Taking the joy out of riding is exactly why Im hesitant ,and few others have tried them.
