In his defense sow isn't crazy or evil, he has a whole other set of issues.
Lately he's been behaving, so don't wind him up.

To actually add something useful about this tire; Ari Henning from Motorcyclist magazine actually ran them on his FZ-09 project bike and only good to say about them. There are members here who ran them and liked them as well and on VFRD there are good reviews too.

confusing guy made shinko's with guidance from Bad Billy. :banana:you would you buy shinko's with Q3's are cheaper when the rebate is $50. Unless you like cement over shoes-never wear out but awful to run in or even walk.

Do you know they are bad from personal experience, or just forwarding stuff you've read? If you don't know it from your use, then say so.

Considering I am operating on knowledge gained from members on two different VFR forums, I have no issues with running the Verge tires. Also, considering I had run the Shinko 005 rear tire and it gripped very well, I don't have an issue running the Verge tire.

Do us a favor; go buy them and then ride with them. If they can handle Tail of the Dragon, repeatedly at high speed, I promise that they will work for you.

But, I have a feeling that this whole thread is in existence for your sick twisted pleasure of getting people to respond in defense of something, while you sit in your basement with your sex toys and guinea pig watching Teletubbies and eating Twinkies.

My family and I served in the military so that we can have freedom of speech. I still support that , but SOW, in your case, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

If you have a legit question and you are actually wanting advice, then please ask. Otherwise, STFU because all you are is a troll, or to use older internet vernacular, you are a seagull. All you do is fly in and shit all over everyone. I want to believe that you are just a person who has a different capacity for grasping subjects, but I am starting to believe you are nothing more than a seagull.

You are correct Sir. Here is the review of that exact tire.

    So, back to topic...

I have had several different versions of Shinkos on my 5th gen and I have been very pleased with them. I haven't had an issue with grip when riding hard in the twisties (tho I am admittedly not the fastest rider) but they have served me well. I know I've done the 009 Ravens (much more tour than sport) and the 005 Advance (much more sport than tour). I've had another set before, but I cannot remember the model. I'n my opinion, for the price point, Shinkos can be beat.

However, when it came to a track day, I made sure I had Michelin shoes on. I don't quite know how Shinkos would hold up on the track, but great for every day riding.

Thanks to all those who have made useful posts, they have helped me learn much more about these tires.
Sammich, good review. I know now not to take them to the track, not planning on any track days anyhow.
Lint, I started this post to learn about these tires, and hope you don't consider me part of the riff raff, sometimes they suck me in. The info on vfrd was very useful. Have you tried the verge 2x yourself, what were your impressions, milage?
From what I understand they're generally a good tire. The mileage seems to be all over the place, from 3000 to 10000 miles. Not likely going to beat pr2's -4's in that respect. Makes me wonder about the quality control of their rubber compounds. Sounds like the front performance may suffer after the first couple thousand mile also.
I'd probably try a set if I wasn't planning any long trips away from home.
Any other info on mileage would be appreciated.
Still undecided as to my next tires.

What's wrong with seagulls, they clean up the mess you leave at the Beach all the time. They are Funny too when they hit you in the head with shit too after you attack them. I would really have a fast short trip then a long boring ride on crappy tires too.:moony: Makes me wonder why you would pick a vfr too ride-its not a cheapo bike. Maybe a Suzuki would be a better choice with Simpleton tires .

As Dr. Goldfarb said to Sheldon: "Go away." "Please go away."

Your first post was a reasonable one, the rest of them are pure drek. If you want to be a tool go to Sears, or in your case Harbor Freight.

For what its worth I've put Shinkos on a Yamaha seca and a BMW 650 and thought they were great. I will probably be putting a set on my VFR this summer based on passed experience.

:vader:Last years model, why are you guys so stingy with tires. If I wanted a Long Lasting tire-Angel Gt. Continental's tires are the hardest motorcycle tire I ever ran and were down right awful Hard-every bump on the road was a nightmare- more like a truck tire. I don
't know if Shinko's are any good. But at least your buying tires, some people will ride around on eight year old rotten tires too. Nothing makes me Happy more the the smell of fresh rubber. I use the Q3"s as air Fresher in the Bath room. Happy tire day!
