hey folks, just got a 2014 vfr800f deluxe, replacing a problematic aprilia tuono v4r. love the v4; can't deal with electrical headaches and having the bike stuck in the shop -- needed something that could survive regular commuting without baking its stator (and let me get out of 1st/2nd gear more often). the tuono is an AMAZING gortdamn bike, though. that engine; that transmission; that impeccable suspension. just wish my riding time was 80% canyons and 20% commute, instead of the other way 'round... here's the ride. have a set of t-rex frame sliders to install (a commuter essential) and a two bros. s1r exhaust winging my way. i also own a triumph tiger 800xc for ridin' with my adv peeps, and a big ol' beater of a scoot i haul my kid around on and use to commute when i don't care if i feel like a dork. ;-) anyhow, good to meet y'all! von 800
Welcome to the madness! Too bad about your canyon to commute ratio...my riding is 100% canyons with zero commuting (I have a car for that). But once you get that steed into the canyons, you're gonna love it. It's just so much fun to rail through a nice set of bends.
There are some really nice roads to ride in Washington state. Bags and a tent seem to be in your future.
