Agreed with above. Have one on my 06 and it is working great so far. All of my research says this is the way to go.

Just about to order but what is the best choice? "circuit Breaker" or "maxifuse" or does it matter? thanks for your help.

I went circuit breaker. No need to worry about a replacement fuse, and it resets itself so you don't have to go digging in the bike to fix it in the unlikelihood that it trips. I ordered 12" more on the lead to the battery and on the leads from the R/R to the stator connection. I think it was only a few dollars more. Was grateful to have both the extra lengths as it made it easier to make the routing and connections work. I also bought the mounting plate as the new R/R is bigger and the hole spacing is different. I used one mount to bolt the R/R on sideways with one bolt as it didn't fit easily upright. This is on my 6th gen. The 5th gen will be different of course.

I crimped and soldered the stator leads and was surprised to find the white connector had melted on one lead. Bike had already had the stator replaced. Added a voltmeter to the bike to be sure and will have peace of mind that this should keep the bike as Honda reliable as it should be.
