Has any one tried a 120/60 size front tire on their 6th Gen? And with what results? I had a front tire damaged beyond repair and I have a PR4 in stock in 120/60 and it is going to take 2 weeks to get a 120/70 delivered to me in my little hick town.

www.motosport.com has overnight shipping and free 3 day. I wouldn't run that tire at all.

Pretty much all the tires you would want are in stock there.

I'm in Canada, pretty much 2 weeks from anywhere, including from my local Stealership :(
Also, just checked your link, they do not have any tires available at this time.

Fellow canuck and BC resident here, I just got delivery of a pilot power front in 5 days to my small town in the Kootenay from Canadasmotorcycles.ca. Prices are good and shipping is free on orders over $49. Tire is in stock.

To answer your question though, never tried a 60 series tire on my VFR, but on my wife's CBR600 the shop put on a 70 instead of 80 (iirc). Steering was noticeably quicker as the front was effectively lowered. I was in town visiting so didn't really have any option but to go with it. Traveled home 700 km without incident. It haven't been ridden it in last 3 years unfortunately.

Google 120/60 vs 120/70 and you'll find more discussions on this matter on other forums.

I'm surprised that Canada's Motorcycle was so quick for you. I was told shipping is 5-7 business days and up to 5 business days for processing of the order. My order went in to them on Monday and I was told to expect it to be shipped early next week with another week after that for estimated arrival. I did google the 120/60 versus 120/70 issue and got some good ideas from that, thanks for your reply

Did you try Bayside Performance in Vancouver?

Installed the 120/60 front, went for a ride today with no ill effects other than quickening the steering up a bit. Temps were cool, so no real chance to up the pace and try it with a little more aggressive riding though.

I have used Bayside with satisfaction as well as Pete's. Pete's is worth the time to check. Their prices were pretty good too. Can't remember how long it took, but I do recall it was fairly quick via UPS:

I had a bunch of people recommend Canada's Motorcycle so I had ordered two sets of tires from them last Monday. They advertised 1-2 day processing of the order with 5-6 days shipping (all of the tires I ordered showed as being in stock). Many people had said that there delivery times are actually quicker that what they advertise. On Tuesday last week they phoned me confirming the ship to address and letting me know that they would ship out on Thursday. Friday I had not received shipping confirmation so I called them. I was told then not to expect to have them shipped until Tuesday or Wednesday next week as their order processing time is now up to 7 business days! And on top of it because I do not live in a large urban centre, shipping times could be as much as 10 business days! So now I am looking at up to 17 business days (3 weeks!!) before I see my tires. I am not impressed, I will probably cancel my order tomorrow if they are not shipped by the end of the day. Their "all in" pricing was a bit better than Pete's Superbike and quite a bit better than Bayside, that is why I ordered from them.
I have used Pete's in the past and I regret trying to save a few bucks going to Canada's Motorcycle. I will use Pete's again, not sure about CM at this time.
The bright spot is that the 120/60 was not an issue for a Gen 6.

Good to hear about the 120/60, but the bike was designed for something else. I tend to stick with what the bike is engineered for. I don't have the expertise to say what else will be as good or better. I have looked at CM but have not been overly excited about their set up. I do remember feeling quite satisfied with Pete's though. I said earlier they shipped UPS. My bills said Purolator. My bad. Shipping to Chilliwack from Quebec somewhere was something like $30.00 for two tires. Another option you can consider, ship it here and come down to my place for the tire change. Naturally, you want to let me know you are doing this.

One day I may take you up on the installation offer. Either that, I will buy my own tire changing and balancing equipment. My local stealership charged me $76.99, taxes included to mount and balance one tire. I took the wheel off the bike myself!
I have been looking at the No-Mar line of tire change equipment, I figure with the hitch mount kit I could charge my buddies $30-40 per tire and pay it off pretty quick.

I do't have the equipment here but a friend in Maple Ridge does. Don't know if he charges or not. Another friend in Abbotsford charges about $15 or $20 per tire. I have tonnes of stick on weights. You can have what you need. My grand kids will be leaving what I have in their wills to someone.
