Last time I bled my brakes was 4 years ago. Fluid still looks clear-ish but I'd like to do it again. I remember the process being rather complicated and a friend, who is more mechanically inclined than myself, helped quite a bit. We followed the steps but remember there being proportioning valves involved and wanted to know if anybody here has as complete write-up on how to do it. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure someone here has done one up but you'd have to search for it. I know over at VFRD there's a pretty good one. Then again, the procedure is outlined in the Honda Service Manual. Do you have a copy of that? If not, PM me and I can send you a link to the one I gave in my dropbox folder.

It's not a very difficult procedure, just a little time consuming. Having a helper isn't a must but makes it a little easier. Unless you have speed bleeders, then it's pretty quick and painless.

The entire procedure is listed in the service manual and it's very easy to follow.....pretty sure the manual can be located somewhere on this site for download. It isn't as difficult as it might appear.....dare I say, relatively easy process.

The download has been broken or missing for a while but I keep one in my Dropbox folder and I sent him a Link to a PDF copy of the manual.

Note that this guide covers the ABS model so there is one additional PCV bleeder. So if the bike is not equipped with ABS, skip the step for the right side PCV bleed point. There was someone else on VFRD who got side tracked on his non ABS equipped bike looking for the right side PCV bleeder.

Yes! Thanks for pointing that out. I have the non-ABS model and realized that that one step needed to be skipped.
