I would like to have quality LED bulbs in my tail light assy for the brake and turn signals. Anyone know who makes and sells them?

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers,

    FJ12Rydertoo,

Confirm those Ebay bulbs will work? I noticed on my bike, one is the constant on tail light (upper bulb) and the lower bulb is the actual brake light.

    Cheers

    Load resistor?

    TNRabbit,

Do you know if the Superbright LED's require a load resistor for the VFR?

I didn't pay attention to the year of your bike, sorry. However after checking the parts fiche the two brake light/tail light share the same part number as the lights for the '99, which is what mine is.

I'm assuming, yeah I know, that the amber bulbs are the turn signal bulbs, and they are different.

I put LED's all around on my '06 a while back to lessen the load and it caused the "hyper blink" on the turn signals. Thinking I could just replace the flasher relay with an electronic one wasn't gonna happen. It's some specialized flasher. 5 or 6 pins. Maybe someone figured it out but I didn't bother. I imagine a load resister on each LED is an option but man what a PITA. Just sayin'

    Putco LED's on Amazon

I used these on my 2007 6th gen, and they were perfect! They were still working flawlessly after almost 2 years when I traded that bike for my 2014.
You can read my review on Amazon for more info.

BTW, upper and lower bulbs are the same on the 6th gens....tail light AND brake light on both, so you must have a burned out element on both of your bulbs.

I did not change out any of my turn signals for LED's, so you're on your own for those, but generally you need resistors if they're running off a normal flasher relay.

I believe they do, but they sell the flasher relays also.
