VF 500 F2 master clutch bleed problem

    Hi,

    I've bought a rep. kit for my master clutch cylinder.
    But I have a small problem, I can bleed on the slave cylinder.

    But please look at this small movie, that is not right, or?
    What is wrong?

    You need to bleed the mc separately and b4 you hook up the line. Use more fluid in the reservoir than appears in the video. Use your thumb as a bleeder screw on the mc hole until you have enough pressure there; then hold lever down until the hydraulic line is attached and properly tightened.

    Still having problems, this is what I do.

    1. Fill up with fluid
    2. Unscrew the hose from the mc
    3. Press my thumb into the hose thread.
    4. Pump the to "clutch down"
    5. Release the thumb, and press the thumb back in.
    6. Release the handle.
    Many many many times, I also held the thumb all the time and then pumping pumping pumping.

    It still fells like I have air in the mc.......

    it may be in the top banjo bolt that attaches right to master. reattch everything and losen that banjo bolt, squeeze lever and close banjo bolt. repeat 6-7 times. then crack slave bleed port and sqeeze, then close slave bleed port. repeat as necessary

    If you can't build enough mc pressure to force your thumb off the hole, probably need to rebuild mc with new seals.

    Thanks I'II try that.

    I can't, not even close !!, it is brand new seals, it is a brand new rep. set with seals, springs ec ec

    I recently bled the air out of my clutch line using the method from the Clymer Manual. I did not have to rebuild my MC so I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you but here it is anyway.

    Attach a tube to the Slave Cylinder bleed valve, place the other end in a clean container with a enough brake fluid to submerge the line, fill up the MC, pump the lever 4 times then on the 5th time only pump halfway and hold, open the bleed valve and the lever will go the rest of the way. You should see air coming out of both holes in the MC. Keep repeating until you feel the pressure building and no longer see bubbles coming out.

    Had the same problem on my 84 750. Rebuilt m/c with new parts and no matter what I did I could not get a good feel, even with vaccum bleeding.
    I decide to clean everything up for the 4th time and put the old parts back in. I bleed the m/c as Squirrelman said then connected it up. I then took the slave
    cylinder off and compressed it back in and held it with a c clamp. then did a vaccum bleed and everything worked great. Bad new parts or just bad me I don't
    know but now it works fine.

    Can't discount the possibility that during the mc rebuild the main seal was installed backwards. It can happen !:confusion:
