Hi All, thought I'd stop by and say hello. Just in the process of getting a new 8th Gen. Currently on a GS500F. Previous bikes were an XT250 and an old MZ 150 2 stroke. Tempted as I am by the new 3 cylinder Triumphs and Yamahas, I decided to skip the triples and go straight to the joyous sound of a V4. Will post some pics when the bike eventually arrives. I'm in Oz by the way, but originally from Scotland.
Welcome and good luck finding the right VFR. According to your nickname it has to be a big one ! I suggest a 1200 ;-)
Welcome Auzzie. Too bad you were not still in Scotland with your new ride. There are some awesome roads there. Saw many while I was touring around on a fuggen bus for gawds sake.
Thanks for the welcome Guys, Sorry for the slow response, I've been away for work and the connectivity in parts of Laos isn't quite what it could be. My missus is still getting texts from there and I got home on Saturday. Yes its the 800 that's on my radar. I'm certainly not as slender as I used to be but the 800 should cope, my better half is on the slender side so between the two of us we even have a few kgs of luggage capacity left too. Some great roads in Scotland, I was there in January, but the weather wasn't really conducive to riding, at least not on a strange bike. There's some good ones here too and I hope to do some riding next time I'm in the States. I took a drive up Mt Lemmon just outside Tucson last time I was there and that was a stunning road. Hopefully I can post some pics of some of our nice local rides here.
