Sounds like a LOT of work to me.

You'll basically need the engine and wiring from a newer donor bike (the mapping / tune will be different with differences in the engines / exhaust).

Close to impossible considering technical difficulties, costs, and the utter absurdity. You can buy FI bikes, but you can't make one.

If you can't get that bike's carbs working OK, you have no chance to get an improvised Fi system going.

Yup ... pretty much what I was trying to convey. The cost / effort exceeds just buying a bike with FI ... IF you can get everything to fit in the '84 frame.

My uncle put a CAT D4 engine in an F250 just because a buddy bet him it couldn't be done!!
Is your project realistic? Nope. But if you have the will, time, and money go for it ....

When you see what some people build, those micro engines etc proves nothing is impossible if you have the time and money, but with this sort of idea, nobody cares, it isn't going to impress anybody. You tell somebody you have built a 1984 fuel injected VFR and they reply,"that's nice" and walk off

Plus you're not going to gain any power over a properly setup set of carbs. If you can't do the carbs proper then I doubt you'll be able to do the FI for anything better. Now if you want a project that challenges then that might be a good one for you.
