Yup, that about sums it up in a nutshell! LOL

I''ll be passing through Kelowna more than likely following the VFRD Nelson ride at the end of July. I have a lot of family residing in Kelowna - we'll have to hook up for a few hours.

There's a few things I have to on my '02 VFR800 before next riding season as well - still need to do all the annual / winter fluid replacements, install my new windscreen and get it setup for touring like my last bike was before it got wrecked.

We have snow and ice on the ground here right now too. Snowed just after Christmas, then melted a bit, then the temps went and stayed at or below freezing ever since. That = lots of ice patches which = no riding....I'm beginning to shake a bit.

As as much as I hate to hear that you have similar conditions on the "Wet" coast, it does make me feel somewhat better. LOL. Sorry for the thread jack Jeff, have to give Randy a hard time if I can. LOL

By all means Jeff, shoot me a PM and let me know when you're through town, and we can make it happen. Most years we get the odd sciff of snow but rarely does it last long, but I'm reminded, looking out the window of the freakish snow storm this time last year where Kelowna got a dump of nearly 4 ft in one day. Oddly enough it stuck around for about 2 - 3 weeks and then hardly any snow in town to speak of after that, it was weird. Forecast for today was for 1 cm or less, hahahahaha. I think we've shovelled double that off the driveway about 4 times today already, and it's wet and heavy stuff.

Finally got around to taking the tank to the car wash today.

You couldn't see the metal on the bottom of the tank. It was covered in a crusty / bubbly rust film. After pressure washing the inside, it's basically down to the metal with a few rusted / pitted parts.

I stopped and picked up a bunch of cider vinegar, and threw the tank in the shower, dumped all the vinegar in, topped it up with hot water until it was spilling over, and closed the filler cap. (petcock is closed). Time to let it sit for a day or two.

The wife is going to be pissed from the smell of bad fuel and vinegar. Oddly, it didn't stink in the truck before / after washing??

I've since moved it into a large Rubbermaid container and put a lid on it. The whole lot was moved into my hobby room in the basement with the door closed. There's no vents in that room so hopefully it contains the stink. LOL!

Wish I had taken some good "before" photos ... you couldn't see bare metal. After the pressure wash, it almost looked new, and it actually started to flash rust before I got home.
