Does anyone else have a problem with rear shock fade?
My JD 929 rear shock was installed 16000km ago, and it works great to start with, but after 1/2hr of bad roads the damping fades badly.
If I adjust it for this condition, it feels super hard for the first 1/2hr.
So it's either too hard to start with, or too soft later.
The difference is huge. To the stage that the rear end will wallow over a bad dip mid corner once heated up.
If I only ride smooth roads (a rarity here in Australia) it stays manageable no matter how long the ride is.
But a hot day and bad roads is a recipe for an unhappy rider.
    Is it just my shock?

I can't say that I have noticed any fade on my 929 shock (which means it either doesn't happen, or I'm too dumb to notice). Maybe you've lost the nitrogen and are getting frothing/cavitation when the shock gets worked up? I'd get in touch with Jamie in the first instance.

Contact Jamie. He is pretty good at answering emails and I have only heard good things about his work. Sounds like the type of guy that would want to help you get this sorted out.

Could be seals, need oil change, low nitrogen. Might need a freshen up.

Jamie got back to me, advised me to check nitrogen pressure.
    Should be 190~200psi.
Haven't got around to it yet, valve is hard to get to.
