I have designed poker runs using the AMA model. My club's annual fundraiser is a poker run. I was poker referee for several years. (Isle of Vashon TT) According to some, poker or more specifically a poker run is a game of skill rather than chance and therefore legal. Otherwise in a game of chance, some jurisdictions require a body to have a gambling license and pay taxes on the gross.

Nope, I don't ride on those HD runs of any kind. I do
a pre ride of the course even getting in sixth cog on occasion.

The assholes on Harleys are easy to spot. They speed up, hog the middle and really get pissed when taken on the right by some folks I know.

LOL ... it didn't get out of first gear until we got to the first rally point just outside of town. In fact, my clutch hand was effin' sore.

I didn't realize how heavy our clutches were until I tried my buddies CBR929 clutch. So light compared to the VFR and it's not even hydraulic!

Hah. Thankfully, there were several sport bikes there as well - I did see another 6th gen VFR as well as a 5th gen.

Victory makes some seriously hideous bikes (the ones that look like spaceships), but the riders of them I usual meet are out touring hundreds of miles from home. so... can't bash on them too much.

Just an assumption. The chance that that many harleydoods in one place at one time knowing how to read DNA is not a good bet. I don't think the latest shithouse follies apply either. However I have heard some complaints that when a large group of harleydoods gather there is evidence of splattering on the urinals.

I got stuck behind a "wolfpack" today in the cage. They were squatting in the left lane just under the speed limit. Took the road captain (lolllllll) about 5 miles to execute a pass and move the herd over to the right.

Oregon has a traffic law that basically says if an operator is holding up several other vehicles, he or she must pull to the side of the road. Another more universal in nature can be written up as impeding the normal flow of traffic.

Of course neither apply to harleydoods.. Squatting...LOL

There are signs on the interstates out here saying "slower traffic keep right" , but no enforceable regulations I'm aware of. I wish all states followed PA's example. Left lane is for passing only, and the highway patrol will pull you over if you stay there for more than a mile, even if you're the only car around.

Squatting is the perfect word. Their exhaust note chorus reminded me of that bean dinner scene from Blazing Saddles.

The California Vehicle Code was originally modeled after the PA code. CA interstates (freeways) are for the most part very wide, have several lanes and many times HOV lanes.

There are similar signs on most freeways. In Oregon the statute for holding up several vehicles has signage and enforcement on two lane roads. This also includes trucks.

The statute for impeding was at last look enforced.. It sure was once for me... CHP got me at aboot 4AM one morning..

We will never fix the squatting.. It's a lifestyle.

Recently two HD riders ran off the freeway on I-5 south of Rogue River, OR. One fatality. OSP said excessive speed and alcohol were factors. Reminds me of the time we pulled into a service station in Cave Junction. A HD rider was filling his tank with one hand and taking a pull from a brown paper bag in the other. He said, "Don't tell anybody." I still feel bad I didn't call the cops on the guy . . .

Yeah, I understand that there was an earlier incident between the two so we don't know the full or should that be "fool" back story. There was a voice on the video, repeatedly yelling "get out of the car", so whether there was a bit of rage going both ways or the rider was trying to make a citizens arrest after the earlier incident is open to interpretation. The vet wasn't alone, there were other riders with him and apparently they have caught up with the car after that earlier incident, so it's possible that the driver may have felt like he'd bitten off more than he could chew. Regardless of the laws of the land, the laws of physics lean heavily towards he car driver when it comes to argy bargy between a car and a bike. In some respects it was reminiscent of that guy in the Range Rover who did something very similar when surrounded by a bunch of riders behaving aggressively. There is nothing more dangerous than a cornered animal.
