Get a MRA X-Creen and mount it to the top of the Givi Touring screen. Great combo. I had it on my other '02.

Now I have the MRA Vario Touring Screen ... it's a little shorter but still has the airfoil. Works good but the top of your head is still in the airflow.

How about your helmet? They vary greatly in hearing protection.

Also have you tried different grades of ear plugs? I would think a 25 dB ear plug would take a 90 Db motorcycle down to a car/truck interior level of 65 dB. Plus the helmet protection on top of it.

Also, stock ear plugs may not be fitting you well. Try a custom made set? I think they have variable filters as well.

I am sold on Bose Qc20s. However, I have tried 2 samples of the current versions and both made a squawking popping sound left side only when the noise level rise. The older versions do not do this so I got and old version as a spare. I suppose the Schuberth C3 Pro helmet also helps with being quiet. A great combo.

I love the look of the new interceptors. The headlights especially.

Yes, I have found a great deal or variance amongst different lids. Have put a little chin-curtain thing on my current one, which makes a little difference but not as much as I'd like. Seems a bit of a lottery when buying a new on how good it is acoustically. Custom earplugs may be the answer... I know you can buy mold-your-own kits, but not sure if they're any good.

Hey, I could live with the top of my head at airflow level - currently it seems to hit me mid-chest!

Interesting. Is your Schuberth specifically intended to be quiet, or just happens to be so? Can the QC20s noise cancelling function be used when you're not playing music/audio?

Thanks for these instructions. Just installed mine this weeked and they helped.

Used this to fine tune the removal process... thanks to you, it was easy peasy.

I'm 5' 6" and I like to lean on the tank when riding but always got a lot of wind noise with stock, and if I sat upright, I got hit in the chest. With the Givi, it's absolutely quiet when I lean, though it seems I get a wind blast just underneath my chin if I sit upright. I guess it's some sort of trade off either way but since I prefere leaning, it works for me.

I replaced my stock Gen5 windshield with a Givi D200 which is slightly upswept at the rear, much better than stock, moved the airflow to upper chest. Since then I have added a generic Chinese deflector, I'll recommend the larger one (works better than the smaller one available) and gray tint like the Givi is. This is cheap to try (~$25), and is a similar concept to the add-on MRA deflector. Lots of adjustment for height and angle, it fits any windshield. The pic is from an ad, it looks to be in the highest angle, doesn't need to be.
Over the years I have tried various windshields on various bikes, with varying success, and I'm now a deflector convert, it has worked the best.... as for appearance, you have to get over it, function over form, it has to be functional. So, give it a shot if you like.
