    Anybody going to this,

They say its more about tractors (harleys) but I beg to differ, being from Killarney I know a good bit about the event!

Anybody making the trip to go to this, I'll be down there at some point anyway!

A bit soon after I get back from California this year, I'm looking at going to the Dundrod 150 and UlsterGP though, make a week of it, I'll take the ferry to Rosslare and ride up if you're anywhere in that area at that time

Unless you know of some racing in the Republic, any road racing is always of interest

My thoughts exactly when I first clicked on the link, personally I blame the USA for leaving so many 45's behind after WW2

You have to admire anyone who rides around Ireland in cut offs, they must have moss growing in their arm pits

I had 3 that I bought from Pride & Clarke in London in the 1960's for £20 each complete with side car (you could get drive to the side car wheel by moving a lever) and a spare recon engine, in US army colours

'Interesting' suicide clutch when you've never seen one before, not the best thing to have in London traffic even then

No idea where they are today as I left them and about 20 other bikes behind in my mates garage when my parents moved, the only 2 bikes a mate and I rode to our new home were a pair of Ducati Elites with suede leather seats, the "electrics" would cut out at the sight of a dark cloud on the horizon and if you lost the ignition key a 3" nail worked just as well .... happy daze :peaceful:

The Russian and Chinese BMW knock offs were really crude.. Bikes were cheap then. I bought a Vincent thumper from a guy for fifty bucks.

I think the suicide clutches on the old HDs were modified heel/toe rocker types to begin with. Some of the MV Agustas of the 60s had suede seats too.

The way royalty moved about in the olden days, it sounds like The Prince of Darkness spent some time in Italy..;)
