Hello World. My name is Marc. my obsession started when I was 11 years old. my sister had a 1999 vfr800 in her garage. Once she started it, I fell in love. she let me rev it but didn't touch anything else. she put about 200 miles on it before she got in a car accident and messed up her knee. it has been sitting in her garage for about 13 years. I kept telling her it would be mine one day. she was going to sell it a few times and talked her out of it. she told me if I come up with 2000$ it would be mine, I never had that's much "spending" money. So the past 2 months ive been working at her house. She said I can have it when I get done...... I finished all the work. loaded her in the back of the truck and got it home safely.
I gave myself a goal of 2 weeks to get her 100% did it in 11 days considering have a fulltime job and do more work everyday after work.
    I love it!!!!
I changed brake fluids, clutch fluid, oil, coolant, cleaned injectors, new battery. doesn't have a scratch on it.

Thanks I've been riding for 2 years. had an 88 shadow before as a good starter bike. I was "hiding" in the background doing some research before I got it. I learned a lot. cant believe it has less than 6100 miles. I plan on taking the intermediate safety rider course.

EXCELLENT! Finding a good 5th gen is hard enough, but to know it's life is even harder, and a family keepsake to boot Nice ;0 Nice, big sister is a smart girl too. But? at those miles I'm curious what got you thinking to clean the injectors? you pulled them and or just ran some injector cleaning through the tank? Reason I ask, there is this thought that injector tune plays a good part to how well thees beasties run. just checking your findings here. again Way... To .... Score!

I've been keeping an eye on oil and coolant, have not seen any drops so far. it was sitting with gas in it and was not put away properly. I took the throttle body out and did the injector cleaning with the battery connection trick. luckily the fuel didn't have any ethanol in it!! when I changed the spark plugs I put marvels mystery oil in the cylinders. i didn't want the rings to get damaged when I cranked her over. also a new air filter
