    Purchasing/Installing from roadstercycle.com a FH020AA regulator/rectifier.

Does anyone know if it is a direct fit on a 94vfr750 or is the bracket that is sold on the same website needed to install?

    Thanks for any input/advice!

No it is not a direct fit. You need to cut and solder the stator to rr leads/connection. You need to bolt the dc directly on to the battery, not plug into the factory harness. Also I am sure that the fh020aa is larger than the factory vfr750 regulator. You bought the super mosfet kit and not just the rr by itself right?

    Thanks for the reply.

Using a vfrness from wiremybike.com. I will connect/crimp the yellow stator wires to the yellow wires from the Mosfet, but do I connect the other two wires to the battery along with the other wires that come from the vfrness?

Have had this 94vfr750 since 08 and have replaced the original rectifier with the updated OEM but just recently have had issues again with electrical gremlins. Have the vfrness and will be purchasing/installing a new stator and Mosfet. Just trying to do it right?

    Thanks again for any advice.

Yeah they never really updated the OEM rectifier lol. They just built the seventh and eighth gen. Hopefully the eight gen is finally MOSFET.

Please don't just crimp the rr to stator. You are going to want to solder it.

Yes bolt the other two DC voltage rr wires to the battery along with the vfrness terminals.

Do you even need the VFRness? I thought the roadstercycle dude would give you the appropriate connectors for the R/R and a bit of wire you could then just solder up to your existing wiring harness.

The point of the roadstercycle would be to get the current from the stator to the rr and then to the battery.

The point of the vfrness would be to give current an extra pathway from the battery to the rest of the bike and give you an additional main fuse.

Originally the vfrness was used to get the current from the rr to the battery and from the battery to the rest of the bike, but the part about "from the rr to the battery" is now omitted with a modern rr swap, as modern rr swaps now bolt directly on to the battery. I guess the vfrness is less important now, but I already had it when I upgraded the rr, so I just left the vfrness alone.

Crimping the wires will only stall further problems off for a period of time, solder and heatshrink them for peace of mind
