Yeah, the old stomping grounds. Haven't been south of I-90 yet.

Heard roads around Black Diamond are fun.

Found a nice detour after getting on hyw 20. Campbell Lake rd to Rosario rd. Makes a horseshoe and put's you out close to DP.

Can't really blame you for not heading south, Traffic is just crazy. I'm surprised what you can get up there in the way of a decent ride, last time I was up there a year ago I'm going wth, when did this get built, just an explosion of growth, which means there's more folks to deal with (traffic wise) why I say I ain't heading north above Seattle, oh so is the divide huh?

Well, you can ride all sweet back roads from 18 to the border.

Any ideas for a nice ride close to the city? I personally have never found any nice day rides that don't require driving an hour to escape the urban sprawl.

And in that is the trick here, for you, may I suggest a ferry boat ride might be the ticket.

Wow, Rob! Super nice ride you had there and sweet photos!!

You are sooooo lucky to live in such an amazing place.
I'd rarely be home if I lived up there because I'd be out riding the state and Canada constantly.

Have you and RVFR ever gotten together to ride?
Seems like there are several members up there.

Would be awesome to see a bunch of VFRs together up there... ;)

Yep.. All sorts of destinations using the ferries. For those unfamiliar with the WSF system. Bikes load just after walkons, and bicycles. Motorcycles can bypass the auto lines too for loading. Ferries run from The Seattle terminal, Fauntleroy in West Seattle, Tacoma, Kingston, Anacortes. See the site for more..Rules and rates ect.

The fee for Vashon is a round trip..

Kind of be ready for some in the Summer who are not acquainted with the loading order who will think that motorcycles are bucking the line. Best to just keep going rather than get into it with somebody.

We need to look seriously at August for a ride Rob. My turn to meet you in your camp. Once I get settled down after this camping trip and my trip to Nelson on the VFRD ride, I will get hold of you. Maybe we can meet up with Jay for lunch or beer or a line of coke or something.

Actually Randy, I've been planning a solo overnight ride that would take me past your place.

I'll just throw this out there if you want to go.

On a Saturday- North Cascades to Okanagan. Stay at leader lake campground. Drink beer and fish. About 7 hrs ride for each of us.

Sunday- Okanagan up across the border to Osoyoos and follow the Crowsnest hwy to Chilliwack- about 4 hours. Back to Snohomish for me.

I'm going to do it before summer is over. If you or anyone else is up for it, I'll try to set a date- weather dependant. If not, I'll try to stop by and say "hi" on my way back.

Give me a heads up. For sure come by. The guest room is always there. I may be able to join you for part of the ride. This coming weekend is out as is the weekend of July 29 as both my kids will be out for the weekend. Someone is becoming fossilized.

Great Photos Rob! I love it up there. I'm a North of Seattle guy too. I was up that way last weekend camping (in the car unfortunately) on San Juan Island.
