    Hey there,

So my 85 vf700 wint start now. Beforw last week, it would start intermittently. Occasionally when id try to start it in the morning, it would just crank and crank and not start, get flooded and id have to wait like an hour. Id try again and it would start right up. But now it just doesnt start period. Itll crank and dump fuel in the cylinders then backfire like a gunshot. Ever few cranks itll sound very close to starting, then nothing. I just did plugs, cause they were horrible. And it ran fine for about a week, ive only ever put 93 in the tank and treated it well. I just have no idea. Please someone help!

If you say it's getting fuel then there are only two things left that'll keep it from running. Air and spark. My money is on spark. try grounding each of your plugs against the frame and checking the spark. Report back with your findings and then someone can help you more.

Check your connections to your coils, after rebuild my 83 had a similar problem, turned out to be a fatigued wire right near the connector. Clean and burnish all connections, even if that is not the problem, it will help with stronger spark.
