    Since you asked.....

    VZM.IMG_20160721_163655.jpg

But technically, it is acceleration rate, not speed

On my phone somewhere I have a photo of the previous high water mark for Tesla.... "Insane"

Both are quite impressive, BTW. But not nearly as exciting or capable of turning on the adrenaline spigot like a GTR.
Or the less-easy to control VFR, for that matter.

I ve seen 163 on the inaccurate stock speedo. It was still climbing. I was out of room.

There was no drama. If still felt planted. Slip-on muffler. Otherwise stock 01.

Holy shit!! Relocated to Marysville, OH? That's like an hour and a half from me. I had no idea it was there. BTW 148 via GPS.

180 km/h speedo gauge indicated so less in real speed. Whats the percentage error from the factory speedo anyway?

I know that my 5th gen. and 6th gen. speedometers read right at 10% higher a speed than the bike was traveling no matter what speed the bike was going. This has always been the generally accepted error on at least those two generations. The 8th gen. has a correct reading speedometer and this has been verified by test ride measurements by many publishers and me. All of what I said on MY bikes has been GPS verified so, no arguing on that from me. What really counts is riding at any speed that's fun, that you can survive, and one that keeps the po po off your ass.

Bacardi! I weighed 135 lbs at the time. Completely stock 2004 on newly resurfaced road.

Now, this has been a pet peeve of mine for quite some time regarding the GPS stuff and all. Now before I do begin, let me clearly state that I understand that many want the GPS to level the field, so to speak, apples to apples (Not really, need the same GPS...) And no, I haven't read all of the postings.

I have worked with the GPS stuff for quite some time during my undergrad EE tenure.

I'd believe the indicated speedometer over the GPS if the bike were in its best gear for the speed/acceleration, if known speeds per gear and rpm were verified, and finally if verified by calibrated gun or set alongside a vehicle with calibrated speedometer. Why? Consumer grade GPS all have a built in error, no way around it.

I've gotten tickets, not on the bike, and each time the officer and I both had the same exact reading. Going out with some members of Troop D, won't say the who, but yup, the GPS is always a hair off. Like about 4 miles an hour consistently on the bike and the truck. The Nissan Frontier's speedometer is dead nuttz accurate while the 04 VFR's pretty spot on too, so long as we aren't wildly spinning the engine at high rpm but relatively low speed.

Anyway, just a lil rant. Bacardi!

    It's a percentage, not a fixed number.

    I've seen 184 with a -1/+3 sprocket kit.
    And 178 with a -1/0 sprocket kit.
So about the usual 156 mph actual.

Update....My speedo was 11mph fast from the factory. I replaced chain with a 520 DID Gold X Ring and while I was at it I went up one tooth in front. It made cruisnig 70-80mph sooo much more enjoyable and smooth as butter. I also topped the bike out just to see what it would actually do. Its bone stock and it went 150 on gps. It took forever to get there. The bike was out of steam in the low 140's and getting 1 extra mph was taking forever. I stayed in it for probably 15 seconds at 150 and it never gained another mph. I was completely tucked it by the way.

For all of you concerned folk, this was done on a closed coarse

Its a percentage, not a fixed number. Your speedometer doesn't read 11 mph when you're standing still....
I too am riding with an extra tooth up front right now and it is really nice on the highway. Also, with an extra tooth up front, the speedo becomes dead on accurate.
Conversely, one down up front reads 80 at 70 actual and 1 down 3 up reads 60 at 50 actual. I forgot what the factory gearing speedometer error is, but I would assume it reads around 75ish at 70 actual.
