Hey all.... Has anyone heard of SP Engineering exhausts? I'm searching for an exhaust for my VFR, but the options are pretty slim.

I was just about to pull the trigger to buy a Delkevic 9 inch carbon fiber high mount exhaust, but then I came across this brand.... SP Engineering.

I did a real quick search on here, but I didn't see anything about them.

    Hey red

I can't say as I have ever heard of spengineering either, but that doesn't mean they don't have a good product. I can however offer up that I purchased an 18" Delkevic slip-on for my 2000 VFR about 5 years ago now, just after I purchased the bike and I am VERY happy with the exhaust and the MUCH better sound. There were a few posts made here and on VFRD from members noting that the hi mount link pipe from Delkevic was not quite bent properly to allow the exhaust to follow the line of the body work. I think a few people have made it work, just that it required a bit of finessing.

As for the actual pipe itself, I have nothing but good things to say about Delkevic's product. The pipe looks great after 5 years and stills sounds fantastic. The 96 VFR I just purchased for my wife in October came with an 18" Delkevic Slip on oddly enough and it also looks great and for some reason just sounds WAAAAYYYY better on the 4th gen. Both bikes have the low mount cans though so I can't offer up much advice on the fitment of the high mount can. Dollar for dollar though the Delkevic is a great deal IMHO. If the pipe doesn't fit quite right you may be able to get a local muffler shop to give it a few tweaks.

You might also want to take a look at this post where a fellow member fabbed up his own high mount link pipe for his 5th gen.

    Good luck with your search.

Thanks, zoom-zoom, for the review on the Delkevic.... sounds like they hold up very well over time. Yeah, I've seen some pics of the Delkevic high mount and I agree, the mid-pipe just doesn't have the right bends... just might have to purchase a low mount exhaust then see if an exhaust shop could make a high mount mid-pipe.

You could always buy what ever 8th gen slip on you want and use it on your fifth gen. They're pretty much interchangeable.

They are a company from Frome in the UK where I used to live, I've bought some other stuff from them, not exhausts, but all was good quality, so I'd say they are OK as a company.
