Ram mount stem adaptor with a X grip. X grip is removable with minimal effort if your worried about extended exposure to elements/theft, adaptor fits very securely and would require a wrench to remove. It's all plastic and rubber though so it can handle a lot before it will need to be replaced, if ever...

I have the perch mount with the x-grip on my 6 Gen and a stem mount with x-grip on my 5 Gen.

Thanks for the replies guys ! Interesting I will take a look at those options. I have seen a few Vids online where riders have a mount which appears to sit more flush with the stem mount and looks like it's a complete weatherproof unit - something like this

Ya you would have to buy a waterproof case for your phone if you went the ram mount way. I will say though the X-grip is solid! Bumoy roads, high speeds, whatever, the phone/gps doesn't move a hair. My concern with the ebay item, is the durability of that clip.

I also recommend XGrip with stem mount. I've done more than 30,000km with mine this year and it's been solid.

Ram Mount has a lot of other options as well. The stem mount I have is actually not listed in the "motorcycle" section. If memory serves me right, it's actually in the "marine/boating" section. The one bummer of buying direct from Ram Mount is the shipping cost but you can always find what you're looking for and plug the part number into a search engine and see who might also sell the product.

I was assuming this was the stem mount <click> but I just wanted a phone holder that was more flush to the handlebars , the X grip holder sits quite high off the mount , no ?

I was worried about the same thing, but it actually fits quite nice. the double ball adaptor arm is only about 3" and once its all installed you ran rotate it to a bunch of different positions, to suit your visuals, but overall it looks really clean and doesn't interfere with tach/speedometer at all.

That is one but it is not as secure as the one I am using. This is the one I'm using. LINK It is way more solid, fits the VFR (At least 5/6 Gens) no problem and cost less to boot.

If you look at the pic in my first post, the one with the stem mount, the "arm" that connects to the mount and x-grip is what will make the "offset". They have three different length arms. The shortest is this one LINK

I bought this one on eBay for $15 shipped. It has a built in powered USB socket:

Hey.. Sorry to open an old thread again but just to let you know I ordered this and it didn't fit my 6th gen VFR . The stem is a 19mm bore and this is too big to fit. Might be because my VFR is a UK bike. On the RAM website it says it fits 3/4"-7/8" diameter but the diameter of mine is larger , 22mm .. perhaps i was shipped the wrong part.

It would be odd that they are different part numbers (VFR) but who knows what Honda does for different regions. Best thing to do is measure the Ram Mount part and see if it differs from what you ordered. They shipped me the wrong piece before. That being said, the inches to MM chart I have says 3/4" = 19.05MM. 7/8" = 22.225MM

    There are two different versions , i was sent the wrong one. There is a RAP-B-354 which has a 7/8" - 1" fitting and a RAP-B-354-075 which has a 3/4" - 7/8" fitting. :-(

Yeah, the link I have was to the RAP-B-354-75U. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway good to know that there is one that should fit.
