One of the boys on the CB Supersport forum is developing a new alternator for the "F" bikes , making it a permanent magnet type similar to what is used in the VFR. I can't remember what has been worked out on here as to what type of rec/reg is the best design but he wants to get the best available rec/reg that is out there for this situation. I don't think it was the shunt type

No replies, what is going on with all the R/R experts here, all I'm asking is not rocket science but what has been found to be the very best R/R to use on the VFR, and boy over the time VFR's have chewed through one hell of a lot of R/R's

My recollection from all the post, is that MOSFET are the ones to get.

Thanks for that, I have flicked the info over to them, it seems that they were leaning towards the Mosfet so this info should help them in deciding which way to go

The SH847 is a series design and physically large -- 4.75 x 4.75 x 1.5 - If I could figure out a spot to use it, I would give it a try. But I'm just looking for the stocker location and the Fh020AA is the MOSFET and a drop in and just fine for that installation. I'm gonna go that way....

    Cool! I have questions:

    • Can you please (or did you already) show us where you relocated it to?
    • You bought the SuperKit, right?
    • What wire length did you order?
    • Was that the right length?
    • Did you spring for the circuit breaker?
    • How do they get the Teflon to stick to the pan?
    advTHANKSance!
