Yeah he had a shagged front and the drying track without all the spray led to hot brakes. I think MM crashed because of brakes.

Yeah, cheers to Zarco. He did a great job not only defending his title but in just obliterating the competition. First the 2 second faster lap time in qualifying, then slowly biding his time reeling in Morbidelli and then just taking off at the front ending with a 3.2 second gap! Oh yeah, the twin back flips at the end was cool!

That had to be a little demoralizing for Morbidelli, to be leading almost the whole race and then get passed and see Zarco just pull away from you! Kudos though to Morbidelli as he was able to keep second. I think Folger got a little too confident and gave a lot of time back to Morbidelli when he over shot the turn.

Cheers to Dovi's too! He did a great job of keeping a good pace, tire management and most important, keeping upright! Good to see yet another winner in MotoGP. 50% of the races have been one by a different rider this year, something never seen before as far as I can remember.

Have to say I thought Crutchlow was going to be a threat at one point, too bad he binned it. They said that he actually broke his hand in the crash he had in practice. Have to say if that was the case, DAMN! Not only did he take Q1 but placed well in Q2.

Thought the same about MM, he was looking good at first but seemed to suffer in the straights and had to make it it up in braking, most likely it's what contributed to him binning it as well. Good to see he was able to remount and do fairly well, just outside of the top 10. Without too many more crashes, Honda might get their manufacturers title this year but the team win appears to be VR&JL.

A shout out to Hector Barbara too, so far he's shown why Ducati chose him to take Iannone's place, although his 4th place position was helped out by the three crashes up front, he still did a good job of fighting it out to the end. Good to see he and Baz come in 4 & 5.

Yeah to bad for Cal. Some of he passes he had with MM were terrifying. That fast and close in the wet. They looked like surgeons slicing away.

There was a LOT of speculation to if he would let Sykes pass or not. There were no team instructions on this at all. It could be argued that Johnny had all the right in the world to not let him pass for the "its just racing" we heard from Tom when Johnny joined the team. He really did not treat Rea as a teammate, I think he felt threatened. But Johnny took the high road. It looked like Tom did not want to take the pass but they were all hugs after the race. Chaz has been a beast after the summer break, you have to go back more than a decade to Baylis the find a triple double. Super Sport was a really good race too, I really hoped PJ could take away a 3 place in the championship but he had 1 crash to many. Kent beating Sofuoglu at the line was really col, hope to see more of him next year.

I'm sure Sykes thought "What a Dick! He already has the championship, now he's taking second place away from me!" Rae is a class act, at least the side we get to see of him but that was a cool move he did for Sykes. For a while there, I thought he and Chas were going to drag it at the line!

Rea had a much faster pace than Sykes and if he would have got around Sykes earlier he might have got Chaz. But when he saw he was not going to catch him he slowed down and waited on Tom.

I'll never forget when D and I went to Laguna two years ago, had a few beers while waiting for Rea and Sykes at the Kawi tent to get signatures from the boys. Mean while they had the supercharged beast reving to red line time and time again----I'll never forget Rea face when I was shaking his hand and said--- get out there and kick all there ass's-- think I caught him of guard---he just smiled
but that week end Chaz won both.
Chaz is definitely goin to be a Force to reckon with next year fer sure... 6 in a row is amazing.
Maybe it will be Hayden that will be in the fight-- one can hope right?

I wonder if Chaz would be as competitive with a 1000cc bike. We have had 8 years in a row of allowing V twins more displacement. Ducati got the advantage by saying they would take their toys and go home and the powers to be caved in and said sure, add a few kilos to the bike and all is good. I still think it should be capped at 1000cc's and 600 cc's. Sorry Triumph.

I watched the races in reverse order. Watched MotoGP live at 5am (PST), then watched Moto2 almost right after, then went about my day with the wife and when she went to the market, caught the Moto3 race. All three races were fantastic, the passing in MotoGP and Moto2 was crazy!

Moto3 was an alien show and shows just how it is possible to come from behind and win. From being at the front, making a mistake, then rejoining in P22, pass all 21 riders in front of you to take the checkered flag for the top step on the podium is nothing short of amazing!

Vinales (1) and Lorenzo (3) already up to speed after doing 60+ laps. Both of their fastest laps coming towards the end of the day. Rossi going well in second on the sheets and Marquez within a couple tenths in 4th. Looking good for day 2.

    WOW! Viñales again!!!! 1:29.975

This has got to be giving Valentino something to worry about. Fastest lap 2 times now.

I didn't have any doubt that MV would be doing well on the Yamaha but didn't expect it to be right off the bat! JL was no slouch on day one and looked to be OK with the Duc, I'm sure as they allow him more time on the bike he'll be near the front. Looking forward to the 2017 season based on the testing so far. Sucks for Rins though, he suffered a crash that will keep him from the next test session in Jerez.
