Hello everyone. I just replaced my fuel injectors on my VFR and now the bike won't run for more than 5-10 seconds before dying and if any throttle is given it dies immediately. I believe I have everything hooked back up correctly (only thing not sure of is MAP and TPS plugs might be switched) but the bike is flashing the FI light 9 times which means IAT sensor. I just tried cleaning all the plugs but nothing. The reason I haven't tried switching the two plugs is because the plugs coming off the wiring harness on the throttle body assembly can't reach the TPS sensor and it seems weird to have a plug on the throttle body assembly that connects to the throttle body assembly. Any help would be appreciated. I would love to get this bike up and running again. I am really starting to miss it.

Check your Intake Air Temperature sensor, since that is what the trouble code indicates

I removed my airbox the other day and thought I had put everything back but realised I hadn't connected the small rubber hose that attaches to the lower right side of the airbox. Bike started then stalled and wouldn't start. Once connected it worked fine.

    Hi there,
I had this problem after a honda dealer motorcycle mechanic! took out and cleaned the injectors on my 98.
He gave up. Only charged me for the clean.

swap over the plugs to the sensors, you got some the wrong way round.
I think they are the idle and revs sensors, don't know for certain but the plugs are identical.
They live around the top of the rear cylinders.

It took me around four weeks of worrying and looking until..... it couldn't be THAT!
    Yes it was, instant fix!

If you want a nice set of injectors, you can buy a set from Factory Pro (16450-MEL-003, 06-09 VFR), matched within 1%, for $180 with exchange. Or, you can get a set matched within 2% for $120 with exchange

Oh no, I meant pertaining to the no start condition, but it probably doesn't matter because that was a few months back. Hopefully he got it running.

    I have a very early 1997 built 800.
    frame number 31

The injectors are original i think.
I had put all sorts of injector cleaner throuh 'em before biting the bullet and actually taking them into the dealer.

I do do a lot of my own maintinance but the injectors looked too hard.

Injector cleaner is a gimmick. All you need to do is remove the injectors and have them ultrasonic cleaned. It should only be about $12-15/per injector and it should get them to like new.
