If JL can get the Duc turning smoothly like he does on the Yamaha he will be hard to beat with the power the Duc is laying down. They are fast.

Well, Lorenzo got punked by Yamaha and that's it for him testing for the rest of this year. I would like nothing better than to see Lorenzo wipe the smile right off the face of Lin Jarvis. I'm going to especially enjoy the interviews with Rossi if Lorenzo starts winning.

I still think Marquez is the man to beat, Vinales, or no Vinales.

I think Rossi will eating his words in regards to Lorenzo. MM is definitely going to be strong and hopefully the new Honda will give him and Dani what they're missing. I also have a feeling that once MV starts getting on the podium more often, he and VR won't be buddy-buddy. Not that they're out having drinks with one another to begin with.

British Superbike Racing was a real treat when they climb "The Mountain" and the bikes go airborn over the top--in a curve, who's got big balls...

Did a night track day at PBIR Friday. Running under the lights is really different. This is the 4th time I have done it there. Perfect cool weather and the track was not to crowded. I had a scare at the end of the 1st session, was on the back straight in 6th gear at 12k when I thought I blew my engine. That straight is super long and fast and ends in a 2nd gear right turn. Happened right before my brake marker and scared the crap out of me. It turned out that the number 4 header blew the exhaust gasket. Tore it apart during sessions and the gasket looked fine. Put it all back together and made it out for the next session and it happened again at the end of the session on the back straight. I was at my wits end as I know I put it together properly. So I called Mike Wheeler. The only thing he could think of was that when I pulled the old stock header last year that the stud came out a few turns from the block and that the seal would never get completely tight if that happened. I checked the stud and it indeed was out a little bit, got one turn on it without fucking up the threads too bad and ran it in the next session. Almost made it the whole session and it happened again. So I thought I was done for the night but my friend that i went with is a coach for Legacy Track days and he gave me his 2015 R1 to ride and he grabbed another CBR 1k to teach on. I want a R1!!. The electronics on it are excellent and it hauls ass. He has the chip and flash done so it was not lacking in the mid range like a stocker. Laid down 174 to the rear tire with a nice linear pull all the way, very fast. I have been riding dirt and trail riding my DR and have not been on a road coarse for about a year. Got the bug again and will try to get in a bunch of track days next year. Only a few photos. Thanks again Mike!! I think the R! was running a little low on tire pressure or the suspension not right for me as my GPA was much smoother that his GPA on the R1.

Met a guy at the track who was running a VFR. Asked if he was on one of the VFR forums and he said occasionally and was not sure which one. lol
I did see him running as he was in novice. Would like to see one of the big ole girls on this track.

Sounds like an interesting evening. Don't think I ever had an exhaust blow out like that. I assume it's fixable? I'm trying to remember if I ever rode a track at night. I don't think so but I know I did some desert riding on my ATC at night, having the right lighting sure did help. Had two huge headlights, one a spot beam for distance and the other a flood beam for lateral coverage. You could take that thing 5th gear full throttle on certain sections but boy did those shadows mess with your head at times!

As far as the R1 goes, that one got pushed to the top of my list (theoretical list, mind you) as the one to get if going to a liter bike was in the cards. Although I like the Ducati and BMW offerings, something about the R1 appeals to me more. Sounds like it was a good ride for you.

The first time I rode at night the shadows really messed with me, thought people were passing when they were not. I'm use to it now and ignore them. I can't rave enough about the R1, you can program every gear for traction level, abs level, wheelie control, throttle aggressiveness, and it has a really multi functional lap timer.

I demoed one once. If you like V4 sounds, it delivers from an inline.

Yes the sound from R1's is wonderful and unique. Something like a V4 / V twin and inline 4 all in one. An Aprillia RSV4,1299 Ducati, and CBR 1000.
Ordered a new stud and bolt for the CBR. She should be running again this weekend.

Good racing on the British Superbike Series again, but get a look at the F1 race you will be on the edge of your seat all the way to the end...

Would have liked to have seen it go the other way. Constant whining on the radio to influence team orders is not the sign of a champion. Prolly why it took him 10 years.

It was exciting to watch and realize that it could go either way right down to the end, and the radio chatter was fun to hear-- crybabies with sore vajayjays and one guy with big balls
