That, like every other time you are called out on something, is not an explanation.

The explaintion is True, but it's just not in the format you are seeking to suit your purpose in asking the question in the first place, the answer is in the format of the bigger question

Why do people insist on trying to force their views on other people? Folks are free to be stupid and everyone else is free to agree, disagree, and/or ignore. The only thing you have complete control over is your own emotions. You have the choice to be angry, happy, or horny. Don't allow someone you disagree with to have power over your emotions. Ignore and move on.

I think what's happening to the modern world is the ability to interface or connect is techically very effciently possible but the abitlity to communicate effectively is much more effort especially trying to stay on topic, if everybody would make more of an effort to stay on topic the thread would be able to share more interesting information, but personal requirements and expectations shift the replies from the thread topic to personal agendas.

Here is what Black Widow says about springs versus welded connections:

Please note our downpipes are welded the same as your original Honda Exhaust for ease of fit. Our exhaust is not several pieces that you have to hold together with springs, as our is welded it can not blow from the joints.
No re-jetting or modifications needed to you bike. Simply fit and ride.
Made by ourselves these come with the two rear pipes shown in the photo.

It's a shame you don't realize or focus on what matters and you get all caught up in racing products what matters is the actual connections.

So are you saying BW pipes are superior to those in the pictures?

I think the new guys coming on board all the time is what has some people who have done this before worried that some newb will take the fertilizer that meowkitty is spreading as fact and waste a lot of time and money.

Kitty claims 120 wheel HP and states that anyone who does not arrive at the same conclusion from watching one or two videos posted 17 times in a thread are somehow idiots.

I think he may have optimized how his bike feels and probably enjoyed the time spent wrenching on it in pursuit of something non-standard more than time and money spent hanging out a bar drinking so more power to him. If he had showed up on the interwebs claiming to have modified a stock 5th gen to achieve better than stock ride-ability, suspension and an exhaust note that he finds preferable then I would say " Cool." but he didn't he showed and claimed that he and only he knows the secret handshake to unlock 120 whp from a VFR with an historically crappy aftermarket stock replacement header and German ECU from a bike that tested as one of the lowest powered VFRs ever made.

So I am going to guess that on a realistic dyno that he will see 97 whp from his set up. If the correction factor is manipulated enough he may be able to drop us a chart showing 101 at the wheel but I am more interested in just two runs, one with the G ECU and one with A ecu and no other changes.

He can then spend a couple hundred optimizing the AFR for whichever ecu has proven to provide the most power out of the box. I applaud kitty's efforts at upgrading the stock suspenders and would welcome a ride with him just to compare how my fairly well sorted 1998 vfr stacks up to his 120 whp bike. I may find that I have 125 hp and didn't know it.

It's a nice pretty story but I did my research very carefully and pulled most of this off in a few months for a few thousand bucks and I've been here road testing after each and every step. I suggest you contact Dan Guhl the ECU guru and have a discussion about what differences the Euro and American ECU could have because he's the only one around who can actually connect and analyze ECU's, you'll mostly find out that although he has never connected to that particular ECU, he has connected to many others and can tell you what is generally common in differences. At some point the bike will be droprf for a DynoJet session and I will give the tech the ECU's to test, but I will not be there. I will be at work and the nonsense about fudging the Dyno reports is just something that would never happen. This bike runs extremely strong and I've seen 160 mph on the speedo under ideal conditions

Yes Black Widow delivers an extremly impressive product, the best in the world, you're drilling over "hype-pipes" that won't last very long and in any case that don't make it for the 5th Gen VFR, so what's the point? Racing products do not last long and are seldom practical or of enduring value. Black Widow has exactly what a VFR needs and don't get hung up on pipe diameter because slightly less means better exhaust scavenging. All those race products are just all hyped up and overpriced.

Ok try this, what do you think the actual labor and materials cost are on Akrapovic products? Those products have a huge huge mark-up, I would estimate about a 75% markup.
