Because Honda added the cat in 00/01 and I have no cat Black Widow one would think it will be fine using 98/99 PC3 Full Euro fuel maps but it's not that easy, those fuel maps will not import into the PC3 and neither will most the files listed, it's not that simple in reality you get import error and they don't save so I'm using the only closely matching Euro fuel map that does save and the bike runs great

There is no point in ever owing any motorcycle except a 5th Gen VFR, if you know anything about motorcycles

The GPS Speedtrack is very accurate means of gathering "first hand" information and assists in evaluating performance . Kawasaki actually relied upon GPS Speed tracking to set a new world record at the Isle of Mann

You must have gotten your degree from Trump U on how to insult every one.
I have owned my 83 for 33 years and my my 14 for 2 years. I believe I know enough about motorcycles there are many excellent bikes. I Love them both, and do not believe for a second that a 16 year old VFR is better than a new one. Gear driven cams would be nice, but not the only factor to consider.

Except the 5th Gen was Honda's "turn of the century " motorcycle that you can only be released once every 100 years) The gear driven cams are the true testament to technology and manufacturing. This is evident in the latest MotoGP product, price tag $184,000

Not really this why...listen to this guy and learn something about how Honda develops their products and this is why the 5th Gen is still such a fantastic machine

It serves its own purpose and demonstrates the 5th Gen does not really need very much, they are just hard to find the ones with under mileage

Wow, Happy New year. If the OP was a loyal and compassionate some what level headed normal VFR owner, then it would surely be chatting it up in other VFR related topic matter. Not just this one it started. But No, it just rambles on, on, on back pedaling changing the subject. DOH! we all ready know how great the 5th gen is, and as a whole the VFRs of all versions are Great. IT just wants to read what he types. SMH, best of, I understand, it's ok. Well,... not really. Disclaimer here, I say "IT" as it hasn't been determined what sex or machine is the OP

The new Carbon fuel pump (made in Japan) showed up and its looking very high quality so when I have time I'll be replacing both the Fuel Filter and the fuel pump to eliminate that as any potential future problem that could degrade performance. We all know there is a fuel regulator but you still need to be able to maintain minimum pressure to the regulator throughout the entire powerband, so a new pump and filter is in order

Just received an email confirmation from eBay vendor in Austria that the "black box" is in transit.

As soon as it shows up I will swap Euro ECU G for Euro ECU ED and go for a routine speed test and see what the GPS SpeedTracker has to say

Just had quite a ride it's nice and crisp out ! My VFR is running absolutely so perfect I can't imagine it running any better. The second snorkel and Pipercross is definitely allowing it to fully aspirate in conjunction with The Euro ECU G and the PC3 Euro fuel map (02 eliminator). It was a tad chilly so I kept it a legal speeds , so lucky because I also happened across two law enforcement on patrol. I just got off the phone with Barnett Clutch and the carbon fiber is the better than the Kevlar. My Euro ECU ED should be here any day. I ordered up fresh Michelins a pilot for the front and road 4 GT for the rear. The 5th Gen VFR is such an incredible machine,it deserves the very best

I am absolutely positive my VFR is running at full power (because it clocked 144 mph GPS speed here is a link to the specifications )

Euro ECU ED has been installed and it runs great. Is it better than Euro ECU G ? Nope not really, can't say one is better or faster. So far this I know, today was beautiful weather and slightly windy, did 2 max speed runs using GPS SpeedTracker, 1st Run 141 mph, 2nd Run 143 mph with Euro ECU ED, so that means Euro ECU G which ran 143.6 mph has faster speed, but might have been the wind. So now I have 3 ECU's and can Dyno test them

Ok it's official the Euro ECU ED has actually tracked a GPS max speed of 144 mph and there was still a bit more there but ran out of road. I will definitely affirm that the PC3 Euro Fuel Map is really running fantastic with this "max power" setup (231.76 kph)
