This is good news for Ducati fans - they'll finally have a bike that doesn't sound like a tractor :glee:

Now this might be the ticket, I can get a V4 and still have a Ducati! Still love my V2 and VFR but getting tired of waiting for Honda to release the replacement to the RC30/RC45!

A Google of "four cylinder ducati motorcycle engines" presents some different stories from the old Italian guys.

This is what the Godfather in Italy said, "We are seriously thinking of introducing it to regular customers, because it is a masterpiece of engineering.” Regular customers might be those dudes that have the pesos to buy any bike they want and have probably bought one or two from Ducati. No doubt any manufacturer would have great things to say about "their" bike.. Kind of reminds me of the dude with the orange comb over selling hotel rooms at $750.00 a pop to see the sideshow. Barnum and Bailey went tits up but there's still a sucker born every .5 nanoseconds.

Hate to say it as great as it would be, sounds like a lot of Cha ching in any event. Besides Apriliia still holds this spot IMO, but I like their thinking

Love to see a street bike from them in a V4 config. At a reasonable price of coarse. So is it a fairy tale of such? Another Unicorn?

Think of Honda as a very good lover - they know we want it. They know we won't pay a Ducati to come to our hotel room in the mean time...

Well, some of us anyway. The typical VFR rider won't spend the kind of money it would cost for a new V4 sportbike, that is the one thing Honda knows.

It's this kind of terrible thinking that keeps them from doing it. Nothing they have released comes close to what an RC30 or RC45 was to the motorcycle market. people saw that bike and drooled over them, knowing they were chock full of performance. Now all they want to do is build stuff they think we need and not what we want. I will always be a Fan of Honda, but they haven't built anything inspiring enough to make me desire what they are selling; I am only compelled by what they have because it still beats out what the competition is manufacturing....

It's not my thinking, I bought a new bike within the last 6 months. But it's fairly obvious that the typical VFR rider is somewhat frugal. Honda has enough marketing data to determine whether or not it would be worth it to do it. If they were serious about WSBK, they would have done it already.
