About 6 years ago I bought a RD 350 like I had in high school. Loved those bikes. Just sold it last year. The thing that I had forgot about 2 strokes was the lack of engine braking. The VFR has massive engine braking, so much that with linked brakes I have slid the ass more than once. The RD has very little. Had The Kawi triple 750 for a short time, crazy fast for the times but brakes and handling made me sell it quickly, that thing was dangerous! lol Still have a CR 250 dirt bike.

Put her in the house for a hurricane a few years ago. Actually put 4 bikes from the garage into the living room. Left the dirt bikes in the garage. lol

Out for a ride Sunday, and I see these two old Vespa's coming at me, one of them was using Castrol racing oil, what a smell! brought back memories of Watkins Glen back in the sixties. Past them again on the way back.

Now just of late, I saw one parked out side a diner, gave it a good looking over bringing back good times then saw the broom stick swing arm and forks, and my head went WHAT!!! crazy huh. love that bike. wouldn't mind having it back, but have you seen what they fetch for em? Wow. Go figure

I was wondering how long someone would pick up on that. First year, Ball Star. ;) in fact I got a lot of razing wearing a full face helmet.

I remember a friend and one. He was a grade ahead of me in high school and at was the first CB 750 that I had seen. He would pop a wheelie in front of the high school at lunch several times a week wearing that helmet.

Our first three years endurance racing was on a H1 Kaw. Those Bell helmets were standard for racing and the first full face. Gator those bikes were point and shoot. You better have it pointed to were you want to go then hit the gas.

I remember down in the flats on bike night that two new Kaw Z900's came down and cleaned house on everything racing that night. Then this kaw H2 750 with Denco's came cracking and bangen around the corner. Nice blue with 30 day tags. He challenged the fastest Z900 and beat it by several bike lengths. He then rode up and down the line for more challengers, no takers so he went as mysterious as he came and left.

Ahhh yes the good old days....................

Yeah from the RD 350 which back then was a decent handling little bike to the H2 was quite a difference. Got a KZ 1000 after that with a Kerker header. Loved that bike and that sound.

Well Hell yea, I went from the H2 to the 1st generation 900Z1 . Damn that was a fun bike that lasted 10+ years, before a certain 6 cylinder machine did it in for me.

Actually that's not too far off. I have a thing for old GMC/Checvy trucks, I did get a 64 GMC truck with that brute of a V6 305 around that time as well.

The CBX was used as a drag bike for a while. I have never rode one. Last Moto show I was at there were a bunch of them in pristine condition.

I love my LC. I had one when I was 17 and when riding it I get those memories. It is a thrill to ride, you have to hang on for the kick, so fun. And as Gator said, no compression braking so its like riding a damn 10 speed bicycle in corners. The glory days of the cheap 2 stroke are long gone. Now any left command big dough. I see H2's getting $20k and Gamma's $20k plus. Should have known, huh? Long live the 2strokes! IMG_1201.jpg
