See it as an easy training session. It gets awfully hot here during summer and I ride with shorts close to often in those months. Be careful and get home safe.
Dude who says atgatt with reservations really doesn't understand the concept. This hobby, sport, lifestyle, or whatever you like to call it comes with dangers many don't understand. 1st degree burns are a little reminder.

The paramedics in my MC are kind of big burly firemen. Nasty nurses OTOH can be fun.

Do ya think GG would have burnt himself on one of your 4K pipes? This is the only song I could come up with so far that fits:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-g48ZYZeZI (Give me hot chicas anytime)

ATGATT is of course for most, "the way to go". The question might be does everyone who subscribes to the theory, actually put it in practice "all" the time? There are also dissenting views that in our waning democracy that should be addressed.

Great tune BB - I forgot how good Johnny Cash was! Here's another good tune in the same theme :glee:

As far as ATGATT - yes I most definitely gear up for high speed runs and commuting. But despite all the well-intentioned admonitions and injury photos I will not be dressing like a street Rossi to go a mile or two down a suburban 25 mph speed limit road to the post office/gym/burger joint on a hot day - it's just not gonna happen folks. To me it would be like putting on a condom for a blow job or wearing a parachute on a commercial flight - sure it would be the prudent thing to do but I'm just not gonna bother - I will have my fun and take my chances. As far as my family goes - yeah they might be sad for a day or two but the house and kid's college are paid for and I've got life insurance so they'll be provided for.

If I do crash and burn you guys can post an "I told you so" in this thread :witless:

Glad i finished that strawberry shake my wife made me before viewing your shoulder incident, yuk. thanks for sharing that - NOT. I don't even work on my bikes in shorts, kidding aside, shorts have no place on a moving motorcycle. We see doodes, harley/sportbikers in shorts and flip flops on a regular basis down here like someone mentioned above, "stupid-hurts."

    Shorts

    Since we’re all really good friends… = D

I'm going to share here, even though I fully expect to get abused unmercifully.

This was Jersey City, circa 1988, and I honestly do not remember riding in shorts, but I must have.

We all did dumb stuff, and wore silly clothes when we were young… right?? : /

Squids Unite! :glee: I got your back Paulie - here's my squid pic - LOL. I almost always wear a helmet (although not mandated to here in Fla) but I went full-on squid at Christmas to take this pic so I could show off my bike to my brothers and friends up north and make them jealous of the weather :witless: That's a BEAUTIFUL midnight blue? bike in your pic but I can't say I'm a fan of those nuthugger shorts - they look painful!

I've still got the scar on my calf from touching the pipe while loading the bike in the toyhauler. And that's been over a year ago. I haven't ridden the bike in shorts for decades, it never did feel like the thing to do and never any distance, but I do ride the wife's scooter to the store a couple miles away in shorts. Not very often, but when it's really hot and I don't feel like dressing up for a 2 minute ride. Life is full of risks. So far so good.

You're the first self-proclaimed SQUID I've ever heard. Being called a SQUID ought to cure anyone. That's as bad as being called a "progressive", whatever the heck that is.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen, in South Carolina, helmet-less, shirt-less, kid in shorts and flip-flops passing me on Columbia interstates on liter bikes. Darwinism works.
