    Dear Drifiting Along

Although our 5th gens, or actually all VFRs are not super sport bikes, I love them for being the best of both worlds.

I have driven my 1st 5th gen VFR (grey bike on my pics) from Portugal to the UK and back, thus touring mode on.
    Screen Shot 2017-03-24 at 16.34.26.jpg

However on the link below you can see a bit of the other reality VFRs were made for:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a-uGA80hp0

On the 1st of July, I will be driving my VFR on Portugal's Portimão circuit, where SBK round 10 will occur on September 17.

I believe one can not express better my feelings towards our loved VFRs as the owner of the VFR on the link below:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fv_EGEn1Eo

My point is I believe your comment come one, back to reality is a bit strong, as in my reality I do ride my VFR on both Touring mode, as well as on full throttle mode

FYI, sometimes on the Weekends, like the TOP Speed video above I've posted, I get up really early, as soon as the sun rises, and hit the main highway as it almost has no cars, to have some proper fun without risking others.... I can only afford track days a couple of times per year

TOP Speed is not bullshit for me, I understand who only rides on Touring mode, as I sometimes also do, hence I would appreciate if you could understand who also ride in full throttle mode

    Take Care

Top speed run with steel guard rails on both sides? No thanks, I'll stick to the track and drag strip.

    Hi Gator
One can not argue with that statement.

I only wish track days were not 100usd per day here, without petrol, tires, etc etc or I could double my salary =) =) =)

Pages of claims on top ends of VFRs. More pages of the same as added comments usually coupled with tire wear, mileage, gear ratios, the right oil, GPS and other dudes making up shit like they have old VFRs that are capable of mach 1.

To the subject of MooseMoose and Drifting dude, they may be rejects from some harleydood forum where their bad boy image got stepped on by some real bad boys and they showed up here doing the same routines. With a little more practice they could become the Cheech and Chong of the world of VFRs. Apologies to Cheech and Chong.

    Dear Resins,

My post went right over your head. Not going to even try to explain it. I ride in fulll throttle mode everytime I ride my bike but don't know what top end is. Don't care either.

    Yours Truly,

    DA

Loved Cheech & Chong, got fired from a busboy job and went with all my hooligan friends to see that movie, for some reason I was not wearing shoes? I remember my feet sticking to the floor :loco:

Any monkey can hold the throttle/gas peddle all the way to the stop, there is nothing wrong with it. Every time I go out, I hold all of my stuff WOT. Nice Video, Your wringing that viffers neck, I get out in the middle of no-where for my daily commute and hold it at 11,000 RPM or so for a couple of seconds then settle into a nice 8000 to 9000 RPM cadence. I feel the bike likes these speeds/rpms, my other bikes I ride the same way. Everything I own 4 or 2 wheels I top out, I think its human nature to want to know what "it" is capable of.

Don't know anything about "bad-boys" I used to have those t-shirts back in dah day and have some cool prism stickers kicking around somewhere ; ) do they have good octopus in Portugal? just asking :hungry:

Drifting Along is drifting into another snit over a well known term.

    top-end
    adjective
    adjective: top-end
(of a product) at the top of a range; high quality or sophisticated.
    "top-end automobiles"
(bikes too just in case DA misses the point again or it drifts somewhere over his head)

Google provides: Other meanings too, including places in OZ and some dudes that make a type of wheelchair.

Have squids?? I never meant to brag about nothing, I took a bit too serious the back to reality comment from DA, my bad, I apologise as I should just have ignored it.

This thread is going so wrong, how did this happen??

I've learned something though, only answer to what it's worth. Have squids comment obviously is not, but I hope to end this non-sense.

I have been following this forum for a while now, although only recently started to write.

One of my main doubts, is if it is worth the money spent to install catless headers, PC3, the whole thing, and that's what I'm trying to do.
Only started to write, to share and help others with the same doubts, no to grab myself, seriously =(

I hope to be able to analise and reach conclusions on how quickly will bike accelarates, how does the power curve, top speed, etc evolves

I will pursuit my goal, yesterday I was able to change headers pics below, as soon as the weather lets me I will see how bike is, run another dyno run, and TOP Speed atempt on the same road, so to finally understand exacts gains by installing 1998 catless headers.

Also Super Thanks to RVFR and PawnBoy for helping with nice inputs to the thread.

    Hi ridervfr

Yes Sir, you can bet on that =)

One of the classics recipes, is roasting with potates, tons of minced garlic and olive oil, after being boiled first, and finishing with lots of coriander before going to table.

    Enjoy =)

Resina, please accept my sincere apologies if I botched this thread for you. This forum (certain people on the forum actually) has a tendency to encourage moving off of topic. I will try to not be a part of that going forward. Others need to make the same resolution but, hey, I don't want to control anyone and I know my wish won't happen.

For what it's worth, I've never seen any objectively measured significant HP gains to a VFR from simple aftermarket mods. or complex mods. that I can recall. Including ECU's, exhausts, etc. It seems to be a motorcycle that one can throw a lot of money at and get very little back and get little to no HP for their money. That's my experience. Others will, naturally disagree which is cool with me.

Hey DA, lets agree to disagree ;) Except for the time and money part. Thats a personal choice. The Viffer does have some areas where there's some decent gains for the money, one just needs to know the know. Take Mohawk and Highezides VFR for example. I'd like to think I'm not to far behind. for me its I know the VFR can be refined to do better, some like that, some don't find it necessary, it's all good. Now what a track day coarse does to ones ability, then add all the trick suspension up grades, you can make a VFR move quite well. Just saying.

Tia Maria provides: Kind of an Americanized version of that dish of octopus and spuds. Some others on the website for those whose Portuguese is nil and whose English becomes hyperbolic regularly.

    http://portuguesediner.com/tiamaria/baked-octopus-potatoes-polvo-assado-batatas/

The "squid" being discussed refers to DA whose radius is ever increasing with tales of full throttle drifts through decreasing radius turns some where in those chickenshit hills he is calling mountains.

Squid has several other meanings as well. In the American Military, members of the US Navy are sometimes called squids by other branches of the armed services. Squid in motorcycle parlance at least here in the US can be found here:

    https://www.google.com/webhp?source...FA_enUS401#q=urban+dictionary+squid&*&spf=559

I must add that our friends in the Frozen North must also identify with the motorcycle version of Squid since in the comprehensive listings, what do we discover? "The Beeb".

Yet to be discovered was any reference invertebrate or other to our newly crowned jefe in chief, aka great leader having all the characteristics of a Kraken.

What the fuck is your problem with me? Seriously, I've tried to be good natured about things and you start making shit up and rambling. I try playing along and you can't have fun without being a complete fucking asshole.

Wait... I just figured out what your problem is.

Anyway, you don't get a hint. Do me a favor and leave me the fuck out of your trolling. Go play on theDonald on reddit or something. All you're doing is discouraging people from posting because, frankly, this forum is a much less friendly place when you're active.
