Left UPS store and found this parked beside muh car. Never knew it existed. Looks like a spin on GROM. It kinda looks fun. I'm sure any fun would be short-lived once I hit the throttle. Tho I'd fit perfectly. https://www.cyclesdepot.com/125cc-m...5-15-with-12-wheels-gromin-free-shipping.html
Nice.. just something about those little guys, very enticing to say the least. Damn if it ain't electric too. double points. I need to go find one of those just to check out.
In Wichita when you say, "Boom" this is what people think: (I spent a lot of time dragging one of these around the sky)
The Kawasaki version is about $49 a month, according to their ad, which gives you local dealer support for the warranty. https://m.kawasaki.com/Product/details/2017-Z125-PRO
If they could make an electric bike with similar range and "recharge" time of gas engines I'd be a buyer. I know the technology has quite a ways to go but I'd like a bike that goes about 100 miles on a single charge with, say about a 30 minute recharge time. I know it's not the same as a gas motorcycle but we gotta compromise. For one thing I love the fact electric motors are very reliable and easy to maintain. You don't have to change the oil, change spark plugs, etc... And with the climate change, who knows maybe in 20 years we'll all have no choice but to ride electric vehicles.
Maybe for a commuter bike it would make sense. Perhaps one day. The torque out of electric is interesting....
I would LOVE for this bike to get an extended range with full performance! http://lightningmotorcycle.com/ I read of a company that was working on batteries weighing half as much with the same output, or twice the range for the same weight, but right now they are concentrating on drone batteries. I need to recall the company name.
My dream bike! Not exactly a Touring bike, but what performance. Check out Jay Leno's Garage, he did a video on one. If I had $40k to spend on this one, I surely would other bikes for touring!
Way too expensive for me, but if money weren't an object it has perfect specs for a track day bike. Get 100 miles on the big battery if you're really flogging it, and you can charge it up at the lunch break with your 30 minute quick charger. I always used a little more than a tank on track days with the olde fashioned gas bike, so it's not a different rhythm. Granted, I, personally, have no need for 200 horsepower or 200 miles per hour. But it'd be fun to play with. And someone who really knows how to ride could really turn in some impressive times with the torque and predictability electrics put down.
The torque/HP curves on electric bikes are interesting shown on even those shootout simple dynamometers made by old Chinese guys who work for Harbor Freight. The HP. like a steam engine is instant.. Maybe somebody can come up with little trailers for the bikes that can carry spare charged batteries.
