Cool - I'll send you a PM as my plans get more definite. Love that 140 miles of curves sign! Where is that?

It will be me and GG Jr. with the bike on a trailer - I'm planning to ride the Dragon in the Smokies with him following in the truck (he just got his license so I'm not sure who will be more at risk of flying off the mountains - me on the VFR or him driving the truck - LOL). Then we'll do the whole father-son bonding cross country road trip thing :glee: and then drop him off at his Uncle's place up in NorCal for a week while I cruise down to SoCal.

My only dream goals are to ride my bike on the Snake, across the Golden Gate Bridge, and the road where you get to drive through the giant sequoia tree - and I also want to drive my truck on the Rubicon Trail (just an easy part so I don't destroy it LOL). Anything else I get to do beyond that will be gravy so I'm open to suggestions.

IDK. That was taken in October 2015. I, unfortunately, did not get up there last year.

I wanted to go back as soon as I left. It has to be the best motorcycle road I've ridden. It just has so much variety in terms of elevation changes, banked corners, rolling hills, mountains, Coastal redwoods, and very few cages.

Crap!!!!!!! I've been wanting to do that stupid tree ever since I was a kid! Well, thanks for letting me know - better to find out now so I don't go postal when I get there - I'm reminded of this scene from Vacation :glee: Hopefully at least the Golden Gate Bridge will still be standing in June - LOL

Why ride all the way to NoCal when just behind Mar A Lago, there's a stained concrete and rebar facsimile that's only 25 pesos to drive through.

Sorry, no pix I have been banned from the property.

When you run the Dragon do it during the middle of the week in the mid morning. Very few other people on the road. The weekends are suicide runs, not nice rides like during the week! Plus less troopers but still a few on the Tenn side for sure. I started from the top off Foot Hills Parkway, just by chance. Then you end up at Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort and gas station.

Not a great bargain per se, but I bought a 2016 Daytona 675R today. I paid a grand under blue book and it came with prepaid maintenance up to 24,000 miles. I know the history of the bike because the original owner is a guy I used to ride with until he decided two wheels were no longer for him. I just got it home, so I'll have to post pics tomorrow.

Congrats, those 675s area great bike, you'll have a good time for sure. There is a guy here that has one he hasn't ridden it for 2+ years. I gave him an offer thinking he would jump, nope. still wouldn't mind having it.

Very true words. The few times I run The Dragon anymore, my first pass is to see if there are the Tennessee goon patrol and the second pass is at my speed. During the week, the ONLY way to run this place is very early in the morning or after 3:30 in afternoon. Too many people are on the Dragon with no idea what they're into. Lane crossing results in the death penalty and I've found the locals to be the biggest violators of this. Locals aren't what they're built up to be, in my experience. Fire away.
