Swapped out the shorty Delkevic for a longer Yoshimura RS3 (thanks VFRD member NoDakVFR!.

    before
    [IMG]

    after
    [IMG]

the Yosh is at a slight angle
    [IMG]

Comparing the two - Yosh is quieter and "smoother". Delkevic "resonates" a little more, is louder/sharper, has a deeper sound, and has more "popping sounds" when chopping throttle. I forgot to weigh them - Yosh may be a pound or two heavier?

I installed some flashing 16 LED running/braking lights from Hyperlites. I bought the license plate bracket, installed it, adhered the two 16 led modules to the bracket, a left and a right. ran the wiring up under the seat to where the tail light/ brake light upper center bulb is and I used the provided connectors to attached the wiring to the existing tail light/ brake light. These things are really bright! I set them to flash 5 times when I hit the brakes, otherwise they're running lights at 30 % brightness. Total cost $108. Cool. http://www.hyperlites.com

Sprayed some Dupont Chain Saver on the chain so it would dry good for the next ride. This chain lube is very light in viscosity but keeps the chain cleaner than the think waxy crap that attracts dirt then makes it stick like glue to the chain. In 9500 mile, the chain still doesn't need adjustment after the first one done shortly after the 600 mile service. I've found Honda recommended differential lube works nearly the same. Doesn't attract dirt. Otherwise, I don't pay attention to a parked bike in my garage.

Picked up my VFR from the dealership, after they installed a set of Helibars I picked up from Fleabay last fall.

Note: Although the instructions mention potentially grinding the tabs off the master cylinders to allow the brake and clutch lines to rotate further, the tabs are still intact after the install and the lines are not stretched by any means.

Looking forward to less wrist ache during long rides.

I stared at it, wondered in bewilderment, where's my shock? Actually they said it would take 7-10 days, I called them on Friday as they said since it looked like a simple fix they would get it out sooner than later, Ha , they took Friday off in that it was Good Friday lol , not so good to me.

    Rode it!
We did an approx 300 km ride, round trip, via scenic mountain ranges to a roadhouse for a coffee. Long ride for a cuppa... Was worth it :beguiled: One of the guys took my photo.

Took the VFR out yesterday for a great autumnal jaunt to Kaiaua and back through the Waikato to home. Stopped at a favourite spot (Findlay Rd, overlooking the Firth of Thames) for a snack and a pic, made the mistake of wiping my phone lens with my hand just before shooting. Sort of looks like I was all misty-eyed over the VFR!!

    [IMG][IMG]

Today was the VFR1100ST's turn for a play, an enjoyable 200km romp taking care to avoid the homeward bound post-Easter holiday crowds on the main roads. I stopped next to a swollen Waikato River for a short break, but the ST is the kind of bike that encourages you just to keep riding and relaxing.

New chain time for me, have any of you had a new chain that had a tight spot right out of the box? It's worse then the old one it's replacing.

    And a gratuitous ride photo.
