I was hoping to get some help with troubleshooting my throttle. After about 50% of a turn on the grip I feel a rough patch and it I twist through it, it will continue to 100% open. Then when I close the throttle it hangs open at 50%. Again, I have to force it closed.

I read through posts and have removed the grip to eliminate that variable, I have also checked the routing of the cables using the service manual. There are links for two videos showing what the hangup looks like at the handle and at the throttle drum. I lubed the throttle drum, but that didn't seem to help. Any other suggestions besides stripping it all apart?

I just removed the cables completely and the throttle drum still catches the way it does in the video without any cables.

I found out what it was...the rod/shaft (not sure what it's called) that is pushed forward by the throttle drum was rubbing against rubber hose. (coolant hose maybe?) I'm going to tie off that hose so it stays out of the way.

To add to this incase others are having this issue. If I tighten my bar ends too much it rubs my throttle grip and stops it from rotating back. Poor man's cruise control!
