I have a 96 that I've owned for 10 years and it has 118,000 miles. It sat the last 4 years but I recently resurrected it and she's running well. Seems to missing that mid-range pull (5k to 7k rpm's). Still trying to work that out.

A couple of the guys on the VFR mailing list have broken the 200k mile mark with a 3rd and 4th gen. I have seen these bikes and ridden the 3rd gen. No way could I tell it had 200k on it. :D

Nice. That's about what I do: 140 mi daily commute plus trips and errands puts me at about 40K miles/year. I only got my VFR in 2015, (with 1800 miles) but it's already at 52K. (I have a second bike, but the VFR is my primary.) I plan to take mine to 200k.

So far, nothing but regular maintenance, if you don't count my spectacular blowout last week! I'm about to have to do fork seals and brake pads.

Woah! Commute King you are! That's an insane amount of drive time. At leat you have the VFR for it. :)

I just rolled over 50,000 miles and I'm about with you, FelipeT...got the moto in Oct 2015 with around 5,000 miles on it.
Though my commute is only 25 miles daily during the school year. I'll be adding 40 more miles with 2nd job.

Regular maintenance, but have had electrical issues and replaced battery, stator, r/r, rad cap. Seems solved for now.
Brake pads earlier this year. Need to do fork seals. Overall pleased with moto performance, especially for the kind of riding I put it through.

Almost 82,000 miles on my '98. Has always run great. Only problems have been the RR, changed out years ago, and the prodigal sprocket issue last August. Well, prodigal is not right, it did not come back. More like MIA. o_O

Guessing it can run many more years with TLC.
Nonetheless, thinking about updating, err replacing, some of my old stuff with something newer.

getting closer to 100000. I want to say just shy of 94k but I only ride it once per week or so. still seems solid.

206,600 km or so. I think that round to around 128k miles. A lot of 100 mile/day commutes prior to retirement but also a few very long great trips. Just about everything that has happened to the my bike is really maintenance issues I thing. Two stators and one rectifier. Cam chain tensioners a long time ago. Right now I have a sudden high rev issue out of first gear that I think is the wax sensor unit or whatever that thing is called. I have the part, just not the time to fix it.

My 1987 Honda VFR700F2 has only 30,000 miles, but is already 30 years old! I'm impressed with it's suspension quality with it having stock components on it. Also, took it for it's first "tour" under my "turn" to use it. Very impressive, as it never missed a beat. Started and ran perfectly, never heated up, even though it was 33 degrees C. Was able to run at well over 100 m.p.h. for a longer period, as well. It didn't mind. This bike was not even treated nicely by it's previous Owner! I think it was stored for many years. I got it for $1800.00 cdn.. After cleaning the carburetors it has been excellent. I was able to go about 900 km's in a day, without much effort or soreness, on my part. Hell, the headlight was even good at night! I hope to have this bike when it turns 50! Hopefully our roads will still allow "manual" operated vehicles.

I think people let them go because of 'wandering eye', not because there is anything wrong with a VFR. My '96 had 8k on it in the first 10 years, previous owner. I've put 40k on it in the next 10 years. Not a hiccup.
Checked the valve clearance at 20k- all perfect.
Stored for 2 years, sent carbs to Squirrelman. He said they were excellent.
For no other reason than I had money- changed sprocket/chain, rebuilt forks.
I'm in Arizona, now. With all year weather I would really like to hit 100k and then part it out. Too many new and interesting cycles to sit tight. I've got a wandering eye!

That Dispatch Rider story is the bomb. Love for Honda!!!!
