Man is it dead around here. I must have missed the hustle and bustle of the pre-updated site. Conglomeration's basic color scheme aside this site has provided some great guidance, and instead of being one of those lurkers who never post I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon.

I have mostly been into cars, had a few supras , mk3 and mk4's. A 2grfe v6 swapped mr2, etc. And the last to leave the stable was an 04 Rx7 PEP edition with a 60mm single. Fun times. Had some health issues come up due to some life issues and letting myself go. I'm one of those guys that went from 240 to 450 and am now a year and a half later down to and about to be below 290. Had some special circumstances play out rather quickly and somehow at 35 I ended up with an 04 VFR in the driveway. My mother is spinning in her grave, and is probably the primary reason I never jumped on the bike bandwagon. By the same token after the corral of cars I've had thru my 20's and early 30's the experience imparted a certain wisdom about the facts of life and speed.

Anyhow, I picked up an 04 with 32k or so on the odo that had been tinkered with a little and imop badly plastidipped. On more than one occasion it seems. After cleaning it up, and changing all the fluids, and taking off the badly installed LED running lights and replacing the hacked up or missing stock parts.... I added a delkavic dual 8" carbon-fiber exhaust. A stock windshield. Previous was cut to be more sport bike ish. Functional, but.... Have a new set of Diablo 3 Rosso's to put on, and am getting ready to send off the forks for the DMr performance for the obvious upgrades. Heli's as well... Also removed the passenger equipment because that is not happening... Probably pick up some foot lowering pegs as well just for comfort. Beyond that and riding the wheels off all winter XD Next year I'd like to do the PC5 and autotune with quick shift and get rid of all the garbage emissions crap.

I've driven about 100 miles so far, and it has been twenty or so years since I've ridden at all, so I am taking it easy around the back woods area and a few of the nicely paved church parking lots working my way out. Trying to get my wife bitten by the bug and if I do will probably do a Saturday School with her. She is turned off by the all the gear all the time thing esp in the NE Alabama Summers. But she gets it.

Excuse the piss poor grammar and likely bad spelling, if not now then eventually. Look forward to getting to know some of you guys. I've always thought the bike crowd was nuts but now here I am in the thick of it. Some pics included.

    Post Delkavic mini 8's.

Hmm that does not look stock, but he did okay cutting it down to be more sporty. Funny thing even upwards of 80+ I had no issues with buffeting, etc.

Oh hey look an OEM windscreen. I have not ridden it since installing so I'm not sure how different the experience will be. If I don't like it I suppose I can go aftermarket. /sigh

It is a lot of fun to ride, and while it may not be most peoples idea of a good first bike I rather love it. Smooth and stable and great power. (relative) I'm excited to get the new tires and the new front/rear suspension setup. Is it really freaking $40 a tire mounted and balanced, even if I'm just bringing the rims? Holy crap. Highway robbery. Always some kind of tax with go fast things huh.

Anyway everyone has already heard one at some point, but since I don't have a tag pic handy I figured I'd post this as well... I'm sure someone will find it amusing at least.

Not sure why youtube decided to make it a 480p 60fps instead of 1080, but w/e I lied here is a pic of the tag if you did not expand it.

When it cleared I laughed. Great bike tag.

For those interested, the before and after supra which was my biggest project.

Picked it up from a freshly commissioned officer at Ft. Rucker who traded it on an Apache helicopter. (lol) Wife wanted a down payment on a house.

    Day of pickup.

And after a couple of years XD

Disco potato sequential twins with custom exhaust manifold. Not bad. Great Tq curve but obviously not your 1000+ hp chuted tx2k supra. More a skip barber or scca kind of thing. Lost a set of pistons when I lost the methanol injection. The car was a multi year project and had everything needed for the intended purpose from suspension to the rays te37 wheels and sticky tires to all the aftermarket fuel/ecu,etc. The aero was selected by the shop's track driver, and the front end was removable for tow with a couple of hand tools. It was also reinforced with tubing as appropriate. I caught a lot of shit for it, but I was happy enough for the brief interlude. The car and I departed company shortly after. Bad times chased with a car I did not enjoy driving or the attention it brought (even before the transformation) something I naively did not expect. Right car wrong time in my life. Lost both of my parents shortly before this within 4 months of each other along with a divorce, getting remarried and moving cross country 2100+ miles 2x times. And two major job changes as well. Ergo the weight gain and then dr's and treatment and loss and continued loss, and decided to hop on a bike, but not quite a super sport lol.

And here we are. Rolling with the VFR 800 quite happily. Much easier to insure, work on, maintain, and store!

You post at 1am and complain it is dead on your first post? LMAO! Hella long first post though! It has to be a record. Welcome to VFRWorld! Not big into the "Supra thingy" but I sure can appreciate the work you put into it. Red is the fastest color, so nice work on the viffer!

Awww man I could have been using that to eat sushi and pho noodles G'dammit! Why didn't anyone tell me. /sads

This is another reason I'm really liking the bike thing, even if I don't ride a supersport or want to do supersport bike things. The bike culture with few exceptions really is inclusive. The car culture here in the south, the higher end stuff is the opposite. Happy to have settled into the bike stuff at this point.

I've been lurking for a little bit, certainly I joined after whatever changes, but its mostly dead in the 6th gen section, but like most forums there comes a point where hit search and viola unless you changed your forum software then you just get errors, cough cough, at least from google. The complaint of activity was more tongue and cheek than anything ;)

Guy I worked with calls them a "park bench." Pretty impressive numbers on the dyno.

I'd be leaning over it taking a nap like it was my work desk. After eating pho on it.

    Welcome and awesome first post!

What struck me the most is the way you freaking turned yourself around to get yourself back to healthier health.
    HIGH-5's for you!

There are some interesting characters here. I'm never one of them, so never mind me.
But have some fun and hope you enjoy hanging around!

If your wifey needs a female push for moto-ing it, I'll be glad to help! :)

Yea, wife is 8 years younger, I was tired of feeling like crap, and did not want to make her a widow, being that big the clock was running down real fast. I'm still a big mofo, but I figure another year 190-220 is doable. The bike is great motivation that is for certain. Far as motivation for her, she just needs the cycle safety class and then to pickout a bike. I think she wants more of a cruiser style, she is a bit short and does not like how high the vfr is but I'm sure Honda makes something comfortable for her.

Yep, I've been in contact with Jamie. I'm going the plug and play route where I just send the forks and he sends back stuff to bolt on front and rear with settings appropriate for my weight, newbieness and likely driving style. I have to say it is great to be able to do that and not break the bank.

Jamie is a great guy with vast experience in VFR suspension. He'll take care of you, just inquire about this backlog first in case you get an itchy trigger finger.
