Delkevic full exhaust system / warning / read before buying

Part of my VFR renovation was to change full exhaust system for sound etc. My bike already had some system, that seemed not to fit correctly. Right foot peg could not be fit properly without like 2cm wide washer! Pipes were pretty new but I thought it was wrong pipes problem. So I decided to buy this:

I took all pipes down and started fitting new pipes. Unfortunately I came across the same problem. One of the pipes which is behind foot peg was in the way of that foot peg and even when I tried with extra washers between swing arm and the foot peg it was blocking my foot brake... The solution was to add extra washers where the junction box is, to move it in a bit so the pipe would move towards swing arm, but then, pipe was touching stand bolt...No room to play. Pipe was bent badly in the factory. I also took the bike to Honda mechanic, and we got the same problem. We even took my system down and tried to installed it in other VFR, the same problem...So what I did was...

 

Loaded lots of washer in front of junction box, as much as I could, till the pipe which was in the way would move in, till it touches main stand bolt... But still I was missing like 3-4mm... I got onto Delkevic, and they were telling me that it is a best seller and nobody had problems, but having said that they offered new system and sent it to me for free , and collected old one. I told them what's wrong and sent them pictures. They sent new system, with a bit different bends in that pipe I had problems with, but they corrected just top pipe going into the cylinder, left the bottom one the same, so problem was even worse... I had no choice but..

 

I took it to steel fabricator, and heated it up, bent a bit differently, and still, took some fiddling around to fit it in with just 2mm washer...Then it came to installing exhaust pipe... It was a nightmare to align it...It is still a bit off to the right, but at least it is leveled / in line with faring ...It looks like it is off more on the picture that it actually is. Don't me fooled by picture. In the end of the day I have to say fair fcks to Delkevic for exceptional customer service, and must admit, the sound is incredible, in tunnels especially... I would not change it for any other pipes...But if I had a choice I would buy OEM downpipes and Delkevic exhaust pipe... I hope my post helps some people...If you have any questions, just ask. What a pain in the arse.
I had to pack mine out with a 2mm washer, but that was it, went together pretty easy after that.

 

I really wish mine was that easy;-) Pictures show how much off it was and size of the washer before I fixed the pipes...

 

My headers I bought from them were a pain to install, but I got them on in an afternoon with no real problems except some bleeding knuckles, had to use a bar to get them on and lined properly

 

Mine went on easily, no problems. 1999
