    Hi everyone,
I started my 5th gen last night and noticed my fuel, clock temp guages and odometer werent showing. The green backlight was still there as on the tacho and speedo. Ive attached a photo. My limited knowledge suggests a fuse rather than the globes. I checked the fuses under the seat and they appeared to be intact. I checked the forums and couldnt find alot apart from Led globe conversions.
Could anyone help me out with where to look? ie perhaps another fuse location
    Any assistance is appreciated.

Reasoning tells me it could be a fuse as you already mentioned. I know the 6h gen, depending if it has ABS or not, has two fuse locations. I don't know about the fifth gens. A google search can tell you the location of the fuse panels if you get creative in the search criteria. If you have checked all fuses, then the next thing that come to mind, is a short somewhere. Some time looking closely at the wiring for worn wires may locate this short. Again, reasoning tells me that if a cluster of components fail, the likely culprit is a power failure rather than several individual components failing at the same time.

There used to be links to the service manuals for different generations of the bike here at VFRW however those stopped working years ago and never did get fixed. I don't know if they are even here now that the site has gone through its recent upgrade. If you can't find the manuals here, go over to VFRDiscussion.com . Links to the manuals were there at one time. Probably still are.

I can't help any more than that I'm afraid. Good luck.

Have you checked your owners manual?
It should detail what fuses are associated with each circuit and the location of the fuse holders.

I also have a Pre-Vtec VFR800 and one of the known problems with this model (although not as common as the regulator rectifier issue) was that the circuit-board for the digital display and instruments fail and was most commonly due to corrosion of the circuit board copper tracks.

There were three main ways to resolve this issue:

    1. The simplest and most expensive was to replace it with a new one from Honda, but that would also lose all your original mileage.

    2. There was also a previous link to a place where they could refurbish and restore your own PCB.
This was far less expensive than a new unit and should not lose your original mileage.
It was a good option if you're not competent or confident with soldering.

    3. The cheapest option was to refurbish your own PCB, which normally required refurbishing and reconnecting corroded circuit tracks.
