Just to be sure, always check your rocket for a red glare.

A bike that I would consider a crotch rocket and sport touring would be the Ape Tuono.

I agree, I have said this on other posts. People that ask me this just refer to a full fairing Japanese or European bike and have never ridden a bike, or was a passenger of an early model standard bike or cruiser! They assume that if it has a full fairing body, a seat cowl, so only one can ride with it on or not, and not just a frame/engine/duals seat and wheels it is "Crotch Rocket"! They have no idea about the difference of a (naked sport bike, Super Sport, Sport Replica, Cruiser, Standard, Touring Etc.) They don’t ride and don’t know the differences of engines, suspension, HP, torque, mid-range, top end, etc. Just an late 80’s & 90’s slang of a motorcycle that has a full fairing body. Now to some being racially inclined the term “Rice Rocket” is and was another one that I have had mine called by some Harley riders and others that do not ride.

LOL - according to that review (see quote below) there is now a "naked crotch rocket" category - sounds so dirty! :D

"Picture the Star Wars forest moon of Endor, only these naked crotch rockets managed the speed slalom without incident."

The voting currently indicates that almost 25% of the members here consider the VFR to be a crotch rocket (10.8% "yes" plus 13.8% "maybe" = 24.6%). I would guess that a higher percentage of the general motorcycling population would consider the VFR to be a crotch rocket than the members here who know better, especially one that is devoid of panniers and other touring oriented accoutrements and maybe has an aftermarket/louder exhaust.

If you knock 150lbs off the VFR that 100hp would push it to the crotch rocket category.

That would be my last bike, the 2003 SV1000s. 417lbs dry , 434 wet, and some say 110hp but others say 113hp. Love what I have but miss this for what I sold for 3,400! with Oem fairings and that was 5yrs ago. the price for the bike is still standing at 4,300 naked, Damn bills!

Nice crotch, attractive lady (although far too serious).
Shame about the gun, must be an american thing.
Only in america are guns seen as a sexual image, as sex relates to the creation of life and guns the exact opposite!

I'd definitely say it's a sport bike, but it's no upright touring bike either... I always thought crotch rocket was just a derogatory term for Asian brand motorcycles that were sport bikes that fat old guys on Harleys made up

I believe that this is supposed to be Lara Croft, a video game character who is an explorer/adventurer, So guns are part of the outfit...She would be the female equivalent to Indiana Jones.

So, likely it is a crotch rocket as long as you aren't sitting on it.

Just guessing you weigh 150+, but then we don't really know........

I wonder what the power to weight ratio is for the VFR. Hows your math?
Then gear it to add the most bang for the buck. You see guys at the track all the time that spent a lot of money to get a few more HP (most spend a bunch to make more noise) then a guy that just did a -1, +2 sprocket change just motors right past them. lol

Pretty much, as I was gettig the verbage Crotch Rocket back in the early 70's on my H2, so it beinging 2 stoke madness, it really set off the side of those in the chunk a chunk crowd. most of the time it's just some poor ole jealous tool that feels the need to say it.
