The #1 and #2 must be related. If you just tuned the starter valves but didn't do more like remove coolant hoses or the throttle bodies, and the wax unit worked before, then it sounds like something is loose or disconnected.

One of you guys who owns the wax unit, any feedback?

    Cheers for reply guys,

Knight....I think you are right that issue 1 and 2 must be related.

Meatloaf. I did drop my small socket extension and socket down in all that mess and had to pull the injectors off to get my "Adjustor tool" back. it all went back together, as the bike is running. temp is spot on to normal. Even did 400kms last weekend...ran perfect temp all weekend.
This pic might show what I mean about plunger and adjusting.

I think the FIW Unit is dead as I cant get it to move when the bike is hot or cold.

I've got an issue with syncing a 6th gen 07 model. all cylinders except #3 were right at about 20in of vacuum except for #3. I turned it out quite a bit (more than 1/2 a turn and got the vacuum up to slightly over 20. I went to turn it back in slightly and now all of a sudden I got a massive vacuum leak through the 2 holes on the top of the throttle body on the #3 cylinder. The vacuum dropped back to 10 in and no matter what I do I can't get it up or get rid of the vacuum sound. The bike only has about 7000 miles on it.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

Went back out to the garage and noticed you could not see the valve through the small hole on the top of the throttle body like the other cylinders. *Took off the brass adjusting nut and was able to wiggle to valve to where it would drop back into position. *Reinstalled the brass tuning nut and vacuum leak gone. *Was able to synch all 3 starter valves to the control valve.

Sometimes sleeping on a problem overnight helps,

    I think I got lucky.

IMG_4487.JPG IMG_4488.JPG I'm struggling to sync my 5th gen and wondering if your solution might work for me.

What plunger and what valve are we talking about? The little adjusting screws with castellated plastic collars on the right of the air box?

What did you pull out and wiggle?

I can't seem to adjust cylinder 2 properly no matter how many turns the screw gets. Have even screwed it all the way out and reinstalled.

In the first pic you can see cylinder 1 has the highest reading - this is the non-adjustable control valve on 5th gen. cylinder 2 has the lowest reading.

For some reason I just can't get the other valves to match cylinder 1. Is there a trick or a specific adjustment order to this?

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance,

    Stray
