Hello! My name is Bartosz, and as you can see i'm from Poland. Now i'm 28 years old. Officially i work as Project Manager in IT Company (Test and Deployment automation) Privately im huge fan of Fantasy books, TV Shows, Bikes (of course!) and Mountains. Now i'm riding on GSF 600 N (Bandit), but tomorrow i will inspect (potentially) new bike - Honda VFR from 2008 year. On this forum i'm looking for more information about this bike. Soooo, that's it for now! If you guys will have any questions, please ask them Cheers!
Hi Batosz - welcome to the MadHouse Sorry for the delay in spotting your post - So how did the viewing go? You asked for thoughts on the 2008 VFR. Inherently all 6th Gen VFRs are a fair bit heavier than your Bandit especially if it has full luggage fitted. So if you decided to buy the VFR, take care until you get used to the extra weight - or they can end up on their side. Mechanically - with proper servicing these bikes can reliably cover immense distances - making them a great sport touring bike. The V4 engine is very strong and sounds glorious as the extra valves kick in and the bike makes a lunge at the horizon. The primary weakness on 6th Gens is the charging system - which can largely be solved by replacing the stock RR with a decent Shindengen RR and fitting a voltmeter to keep an eye on system volts as you ride. The VTEC valve check is expensive and is probably required excessively frequently - unless you intend to use the bike as a regular track day mule. Consequently many Vtec owners have chosen to skip every other Vtec valve check and usually find that all the Valves are in spec when it was eventually checked. SkiMad
