Got one of the QS installed today. Haven't gone out for a ride yet, but it took about 3 hours there abouts just with me taking my time with the plastics. Front upper was a little bit of a bear, but not so bad after doing it now. I can probably do the next one in around an hour or so; I still have to do my wife's bike so I guess that will be the test.

Wire routing was somewhat fiddly, though the instructions were very clear. I had no issue using the clip they provided for step 23, which some people complained. I just took my time with it.

I'd say it was a Novice to Intermediate installation. The biggest skills required were patience and situational awareness. Also, I keep being surprised about the debris that piles up in the bottom of the fairings up front. I could have built a sand castle with what fell out, and it's been only 800mi or so since the lower plastics were off.

Just installed the second one. Took exactly an hour, even with getting my tools out. Sure helps to know what to do.

Here's how the connector is supposed to go for step 23. Pull the drain tube upward to give yourself room to attach and and shimmy it back between the engine.

Just ordered one... 2 weeks shipping - will have a crack at installing. Doesn't seem too difficult.

I thought the same. My fix was a couple 1/4" holes drilled through the bottom of the two lowers. Some larger rocks accumulate still, but smaller grit has a pathway to vibrate and fall back out.

Rode with the QS today and it's awesome.

It feels like it takes less overall effort to shift either direction (up or down) due to the pivot based design of the shifter. The clutchless upshifts are awesome. 1-2 not perfectly smooth (at least, I haven't found the sweet spot,) but 3-4 and 4-5 are just butter.

The install instruction refer to specific torque settings for a couple of bolts. Is a torque wrench mandatory or did people just install them by feel?

So I wrote to webike asking them to confirm the quickshifter is compatible with the 2017 model... They wrote back with:

I have no idea... my compliance plate vin starts with JH2RC79U.... So I have no idea which one of the 2 above it is.

I would not bother asking them, since they wouldn't know each regions' bikes.

I'd just simply visit the Honda site for your region and look at the accessories available. The 2017 is virtually unchanged as far as anything technical is concerned, so I can't imagine it wouldn't work.

The only problem I have had with QS is me, I occasionally hit shifter unintentionally, and it momentarily kills the engine! Watch your feet!

You were right - rang the dealer and they confirmed the quickshifter part number hasn't changed.

Got my quick shifter in today; actually came in yesterday but wasn't here to sign for it. Surprised to get it so guickly.
Took about 2 hrs to install(not in a hurry , and did some cleanup while I had it apart) .
Went for a 100 mile test ride(scrubbing in my new rear tire lol). Shifter works great really smooth, have to get use to not needing to chop the throttle; also seams to be smoother the higher the rpm's.
Really liken this add on. BTW my bike is a standard model.

Bugger, I was hoping that it would also fit my 1999 800 FiX (I think you call it the 5th gen).

It's a shame it only fits the latest model as I was looking for one for my 1999 800 FiX.

    Hi Adprom

I also have a Healtech QSE Quick shifter, and I’ve learned respecting specific torque settings helps to tune it to work flawless mush faster; I had to go to my mechanic to borrow the torque wrench
I also stumble with my foot on the gear lever once in a while by accident, which momentarily kills the engine; watch your feet =)
Besides that, only good things to say =)

Comments like that suggest it is time you folks collaborate on a group buy with someone on VFRW just south of the border to get a bundle of shifters so that you folks can take a brief trip south to fit the bits and ride home smiling.

Got mine from weblike Japan (saved a few bucks thanks to you) and installed in October 2017. Easy job and it is a lot of fun!

Got one and fitted it last week. It's ok but i think of it more as slow shifter, well better in slower situations. it works ok at full throttle accelerating but i can clutchless shift and slightly roll the throttle just as fast if not faster. In town and a lower speed though it works really well, this is because it has quite a long kill time where as high end quickshifters have a shorter kill time. I have the Yamaha one fitted to my MT10 (FZ10) and it's pretty good when moving ahead with a purpose but not good for town shifting, I have also ridden bikes with HM quickshiters and these are in another league to the 2 standard manufacturer ones i have, they work so smooth you hardly notice, it's just a prod with no real delay.

One other thing I noticed is before fitting my gear change was very smooth and quiet when changing up or down and also when putting the bike into first gear at a standstill. after fitting the shifter (which now has the linkage) my first change into first when i get on the bike is nice and quiet and smooth but after that it will make a clunk noise, also when changing down there's a slight notchy feel to it and a clunk. nothing like as bad as my MT10 which is a really clunky box made even worse by fitting rearsets (the box works fine though). anyone else notice this with the Honda quickshifter ?

I just ordered the QS from Webike. Can't wait to get it.

Thank you for the heads up on the pricing.
