I'm extremely new to the VFRWorld and the VFR world. I bought a 1996 with 105K miles on it! It runs great and I've put another 1k on it so far. I'm wondering if there are any other high mileage VFR's out there (especially the same gen). Hopefully I'm not on the bleeding edge here with everyone cheering me on to see how long it will last but, someone's got to do it, right? Everyone I talk to say the Honda V4 can go over 100k, especially the ones with gear driven cams. I sure hope that's not all! :)

    Thanks for the inputs!

A friend of mine have a 1990 model with over 130.000 km on the clock.
When he bought it when had gone over 110.000 km.
He serviced the whole engine and everything was within spec's.
    Rock solid engine!!

Hey, just out of curiosity, did you happen to see/purchase this bike from Craigslist in San Diego? I remember a guy really pushing to sell a 1996 VFR with 105k in SD. I saw it on their a few times. I hope she holds together for another 50k for ya!

This is encouraging news. I'm new to VFR's as well and my '87 has 45k on it. If I got another 50k out of it I would be happy. Sounds like it should go a lot longer than that. I'm a stickler for maintenance too.

*EDIT* Sorry, didn't realize this thread was in the 3rd and 4th gen forum.

mine is a 1990...original owner, turned 48,000 today...was thinking of selling for a newer model, but i've grown attached to it...besides, its somewhat of a classic these daze (isn't it?)...bodywork is hard to find though...but, i've just found Thurn Motorsport in Germany that has some great stuff for 3rd and 4th generations with great a great review from one purchaser...

I have 72k on my '90. It's still awesome and it's good to know I have lots of life left.

make sure you check your fluids (oil, coolant, etc) and you'll be fine. Mine ran great up until I seized the pistons from lack of coolant, it had 70k. Just goes to show anything can happen without daily maintenance. I have a 4th generation engine on the way with 6k on it so I'm sure I'll get another 20 years out of it.

    I've had VFR RC 24, 1986., 115 HP, and she had 234 000 miles.

She was very very noise but still runing and she never spend a oil. When we open a machine, springs on cams are broken and because that she was noise.

Don't worry, 100 000 miles is nothing for her....

Wow, that Brit's put a ton of miles on his bikes. And just think, he uses 10-40 car oil.

Oops, hope I didn't stoke an oil discussion.
