    Hi All,

A fully black windscreen is much better than the standard one (I think). Especially when the bike is red.
So today I picked the spray can and painted the screen black. I think the result is much better than I was hoping for.

Looks great!! What type of paint did you use? I've been afraid to do this as I heard some paint will melt the plastic wind screen.

Now someone could correct me here, but I think it is paints with high volatility that will melt the plastics. The stuff that dried immediately. It is in the tip of my tongue but that is where it is staying.

    An acrylic should be fine.

    Hi all,

The paint that I used is the cheapest paint I could find (no kidding).

We have a shop here in The Netherlands which is more like a budget store with al kinds of cheap stuff, spray paint included.
It is the black matte finish which is very popular (apparently) because every time I visit the store this particular paint is sold out. So when there is a new storage I buy 8 cans right away just to make sure I have enough. With a price of 1,99 euros a can this is pretty affordable I would say.

What I did is, I cleaned the inside of the screen twice just to make sure the paint would stick well.
I did a few layers of paint to make sure the paint was sprayed evenly. Because of the quick drying I could put the screen back on the bike after a few hours.

I even sprayed the sadle of my previous VFR with this paint which turned out pure black, the wooden kids chair, my fixed bike, etc..

    Cheers,

    Danny
